Her reason why it is a tragedy is because Affleck was not nominated for Best Director, that Argo shouldn't win Best Picture.  Her full blown campaign for Lincoln and against Argo is interesting to see.  First trying to portray that Affleck had the congressman talk about the Lincoln Script (She called this 'cheating')

 

Then after BAFTAs, pleading with Oscar voters to vote for Lincoln.

 

 

 

Yeah, so I'm done with Sasha's podcast. I like her movie discussions a lot because she's a strong critic, but she's treating Argo winning like it's a tragedy. And cus Directors are more daring with their selections and Bigelow and Affleck were deemed too mainstream for them.

Sure. That's why they also snubbed Spielberg, Lee and Russell this year, Payne, Allen and Scorsese last year, Fincher and the Coens two years ago, and filled those spots with unknowns, up-and-comers, independent darlings and European auteurs. That's how daring and non-mainstream they are.
