85th Academy Awards (24/2/13) Official Thread- TONIGHT!! NOMINEES IN THE FIRST POST

Recommended Posts

Just arrived from Lincoln. Wasn't expecting to like it but I did it. It is a shame that Spielberg had 3 good chances to end the movie but that thing justs keeps moving foward.

Now that we're gonna get a BP/BD split this year, Sasha brings up a good point. Just because there's a split this year, and because Argo defied the Driving Miss Daisy precedent, doesn't mean that it will happen every year. We're gonna get 5 years in a row of people insisting that we'll get a BP/BD split because of this. It'll be like TKS vs TSN all over again because "Oh, well they awarded the feel good movie "Crash" and awarded the respected director "Lee." "

I haven't seen the other films but from what I've heard he's not going to win. What I'm saying is if he does when then expect to hear Argo's name a lot that night

Yeah but that's only happen if we see a sweep on the scale of the ones of an older academy, the ones they liked giving to Epics. In other words it's not happening.

Though Argo will need to win screenplay-remember it needs to win one other major Oscar to win picture. Screenplay is what it is depending on. And since Chariots of Fire, only Crash has won picture without winning director or an acting Oscar.
