Those are official weekend data (Friday-Sunday).

= weekend, yes as the tweet is named, but they tweeted prov lists after having already tweeted the final/actual list.

The prov list tweet(s) appears too often in between, to me it looks not logical if that prov list would be a mere re-tweet = I added the remarks as a continuing text to the earlier thoughts :)

After my last post with their tweets quoted:

TOP 10 PROV 1-CANTA 2-ROGUE ONE 3-ASSASSIN'S 4-VAIANA 5-VILLAVICIOSA 6-BELLEZA OCULTA 7-A.FANTASTICOS 8-INOCENTES 9-U.HOMBRE 10-PATERSON

I see. Those lists must be data from post weekend days (Monday or Tuesday). So yes, it could be more clear. However, if it were more clear, people would not pay for it ;)

Rentrak France (why France?) retweeted him with that too

Spanish Box Office is back on track with over 100MM admissions for the first time since 2009-Another year with Local product as a key driver

Is he connected to Spanish BO?

More exact data:

€601,770,637 (+5% relative to 2015) - 100,275,624 admissions (+6%) - €6.01 average ticket price (€6.07 in 2015)

Local films: €109,040,951 - 18,144,453 admissions (it is a 18% of the total)

It is curious that among the last 6 years, just in 2013 a foreign film has won the year (The Croods if we take into account natural year or Desolation of Smaug if we take into account films reelased during the year). Torrente 4 won 2011, The Impossible 2012, 8AV in 2014, 8AC in 2015 and A monster calls in 2016.

Top 5 of the year:

1. A monster calls: €26.5m

2. Pets: €21.3m

3. Finding Dory: €17.6m

4. Jungle Book: €16.8m

5. The revenant: €14.2m

Average ticket price is so low!

Good year for the Spanish BO anyway.

The usual price in my usual cinema is €7.70 and it is not the most expensive of the country. Madrid or Barcelona are way more expensive. But for example, 4 million among the 101 million tickets sold had a €2.90 price each because of Fiesta del Cine. Those discounts make the average ticket price can drop.

For sure. It has done €0.5m during last week. In Spain, this first week is as big as the previous one. Many people still have vacations and children return to school next Monday. And Friday is national holiday. We can still expect big numbers this week for every film.

As expected, good data relative to previous week because of holidays. Flat or increase for the 3 holdovers.

"Contratiempo" is a local film and "Silencio" is Scorsese's Silence.

19 (16). Paterson: €591,463 (5th)
20 (N) . Juste la fin du monde: €39,345 (NEW)

As expected, big week-to-week increases. Sing! has grossed €4.2m during Mon-Sun period, Passengers €3.1m, Rogue One €2.3m, Assasin's Creed €1.5m, and Villaviciosa de al Lado, Moana and Collateral Beauty €1.0m each.

FB will not probably reach the lowest HP film (DH1 with €13.8m), but it will be very close.

RO (€14.1m) is tracking a bit lower than half than TFA at the same point, which was at €29m at the end of holidays.

If some of you want to have a better perspective of these numbers, the size of the market is, rounding up, about 18 times lower in dollars than US. That means that if a film makes about €5.3m it is equivalent to $100m. You can take €5m or €5.5m for easier extrapolations, but more or less, that is the current equivalence.

comScore data are for the weekend (Fri 6th-Sun 8th).

The data I gave in my previous post are for the whole week (Mon 2nd-Sun 8th):

As expected, big week-to-week increases. Sing! has grossed €4.2m during Mon-Sun period, Passengers €3.1m, Rogue One €2.3m, Assasin's Creed €1.5m, and Villaviciosa de al Lado, Moana and Collateral Beauty €1.0m each.

I see. :)

I am used to descriptions / titles of a chart / or... giving the info for what the dates mean being on the top of charts.

January 6th-8th (bold titles are local films)

 1 (1) . Sing!: €12,138,897 (3rd) +€4.2m

= I focused on those parts

Thanks for the explanation :)
