ScareLol
SHANG-CHI PRE-SALES (D-2) - 377 tickets sold in 4 theatres (+74 tickets sold since last update 25 hours ago) (28 showtimes) Worse than yesterday, I'm a bit worried. I hope we have 600+ tickets on Thursday night EDIT: I've checked After pre-sales and they are better than those of Shang-Chi LOL Edited August 31, 2021 by ScareLol
ScareLol
SHANG-CHI PRE-SALES (D-1) - 507 tickets sold in 4 theatres (+130 tickets sold since last update 24 hours ago) (28 showtimes) This is looking so much better, great jump today. Hoping for +150 tickets tomorrow AFTER WE FALL (D-1) - 392 tickets sold in 4 theatres (23 showtimes) After 2 had 521 tickets sold the day of its release. I don't see this catching up to that but it's pretty decent Btw, saw Shang-Chi on a fan event today in Madrid and people went WILD for the film. It was so enjoyable and charming Edited September 1, 2021 by ScareLol
CJohn
After flopped here. Not sure what happened. I guess it was easier to create hype and awareness last year when the only competition was Tenet.
ScareLol
PRE-SALES FOR TOMORROW WITH 3 NEW RELEASES SHANG-CHI - 846 tickets sold in 4 theatres (+339 tickets sold since last update 24 hours ago) (29 showtimes) What the fuck happened here? Shang-Chi exploded on those 4 theatres, adding 339 tickets. One of them is at 90% occupancy with 6 shows. Comps: 0,85x Black Widow (€1,40 OW) 0,77x F9 (€2,15M OW) 3,04x TSS (€3,41 OW) 1,46x GVK (€2,14 OW) This is looking pretty promising for Shang-Chi. Black Widow was frontloaded as hell and even more with Thursday previews. Going bold and saying €1.75M beating BW OW AFTER WE FALL - 465 tickets sold in 4 theatres (25 showtimes) After 2 comp gives this €790K OW. The second one got previews on Thursday tho so this could be even lower. MALIGNANT - 80 tickets sold in 4 theatres (20 showtimes) So much better than Candyman and Escape Room 2 pre-sales. Hoping for €500K OW Edited September 2, 2021 by ScareLol

That could be a good OW too. Black Widow had bad WOM, one of the worst in MCU, according to FilmAffinity (the Spanish IMDB). It's only ahead of Thor 1, Thor 2, The Incredible Hulk and Captain America 1. Let's hope for better WOM for Shang-Chi. BW was mediocre and Shang-Chi is better in my opinion Edited September 3, 2021 by ScareLol
ScareLol
Shows are starting right now on the theatres I've tracked. I will update this post with pretty much every show today but night shows, after the show started, to see walk-ups. 5 shows between 3:45PM and 4:45PM: 184 tickets (+92 tickets since final update). 50% tickets sold came from walk-ups 11 shows between 5:00PM and 8:00PM: 699 tickets (+374 tickets since final update): 3 of the 4 theatres practically sold out every show. Even one of them added one last minute show and it sold out too. Edited September 3, 2021 by ScareLol

ScareLol
Numbers look good. Shang-Chi could hit 1.7M, After 1M and Malignant 600K. Let's see Saturday jump

BW IM was 2.73x but SC doesnt have PA and WOM is better. After is a wildcard but 1-1.1M is reasonable if Friday is frontloaded as hell

ScareLol
€1.55M for Shang-Chi. With actuals it can beat The Conjuring 3 to be the third best opener of the year, behind F9 and Black Widow. Black Widow was more frontloaded than SC so bodes well for legs with pretty much no competition until Dune on 17th September
ScareLol
€1.05M for After 3. 15% better than the second part. Horny teenagers are still on a roll

ScareLol
Actuals are out. After drops hard from estimates (€200K less). It only grossed €325K between Saturday and Sunday so frontloaded as hell. Shang-Chi couldn't surpass The Conjuring 3 OW and Malignant did good all things considered
