John Woo is one of the greatest action directors of all time and he's undoubtedly the most influential now if you look at the action films of the past 25 years or so

 

This is the only Hollywood film where the man was allowed to do what he wanted and mind you the ingredients are all there for it to be giant fuck up and yet it ends up being this awesome thrillride

 

I miss Woo so much ... when he's on form his movies are so exhilarating

I fucking worship Woo and Hard Boiled is the best action movie of all time but what s up with Woo and doves ???Face Off is his american masterpiece, the premise is a bit over the top but both Cage and Travolta ham it up to the top.

Can't stop thinking about this movie since I watched it.

I know I'm taking this line from the Honest Trailers guys, but it's either the dumbest awesome movie, or the most awesome dumb movie. Either way, I enjoy the hell out of the two lead performances, the extremely energetic and well-choreographed action sequences, and the fact that the film embraces its premise with plots holes and all and runs with it rather than ever really trying to take itself seriously.

One of my favorite action flicks. I'm a huge Cage fan, and his performance here is just another example of his wonderfully comic lunacy, while Travolta also does a pretty great job hamming it up.
