  1. I think it's going to be between The Flash and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part I for the crown. Almost by default.
  2. Can't say I'm surprised. Seem to recall the 2013 remake wasn't that well-liked and plummeted in its second weekend? Age-old rule of the new film paying for the sins of the last film.
  3. Considering I thought this would struggle to crack $25M, this is most definitely a victory. Albeit a short one. Super Mario Bros. is literally days away from killing everything in its path.
  4. Had it pegged for $50M based on goodwill from the first two Creed films, good trailers and good reviews. But pushing $60M?! Way to go, Donnie!
  5. Why Ben Affleck Must Wipe His Hands Clean of the DCU If He Truly Wants to Return to the Glory Days of Argo
  6. To paraphrase the infamous quote from Jack Nicholson to Jack Valenti, there isn't a single person in the movie industry qualified to estimate the top on Michael. This is going to be such a monster hit.
  7. I mean, maybe? Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi (Bad Boys for Life, Batgirl) are rumored to be working on it. We'll see.
  8. It's been talked about on and off for decades. But you know... if they're ever going to do it, now is the perfect time for Warner Bros. Discovery to pull the trigger on that Goonies sequel. Ke Huy Quan is about to win an Oscar, Josh Brolin remains one of the busiest character-actors working (who I have no doubt will have an Oscar of his own within the next decade) and Sean Astin is still working well. All due respect to their co-stars, you keep those three as your carryover/legacy characters, and have new kids in the lead. Maybe about how "kids today don't know anything about going on an adventure." Personally... I don't endorse this idea. But it makes too much sense and frankly WBD would be stupid not to go for it. Have it out for 2025 for the 40th anniversary.
  9. How Peter Safran’s Presence at DC Will Allow James Gunn to Go Up, Up, and Away and Direct the New Superman Movie Himself
  10. Disney only gets, what, 25% of that cut? No need to push Avatar 3 back in that case since Christmas 2025 will supposedly be the next Star Wars (the one Damon Lindelof is writing/producing). I'll believe it when I see it. What I think we'll definitely get that Christmas? The DCU Superman reboot that James Gunn will write/direct.
  11. Ironically Johnson's statement came less than an hour after publishing this. Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam PR Debacle Proves His Ego Has Grown Nearly as Big as His Muscles
  12. To this day, I've never heard a packed audience clap louder than this on opening night (at 1:11). You know the moment and the line...
  13. No. But again remember how many blamed the snowstorms in the northeast for Avatar's $77M opening? Again. Too early to make a call either way, and I say this as one who never thought The Way of Water would topple Top Gun: Maverick, domestically at the very least. Still don't.
  14. All for Cameron eating humble pie and I love me a good meltdown. But it would foolish to jump the gun this quickly. Remember how Avatar dropped 2% in it's second weekend?!
