  1. I really hope this film works out for Spike. It looks like interesting subject matter!
  2. lol I'm not rich at all and I've been to restaurants that have finger bowls. I don't think the gag is realistic.
  3. Wait have you seen the movie or are you talking about the tone in the trailer? Idk people are saying the movie is a dramedy. I read some reviews on twitter that the movie is really funny and the trailer is a lot more dramatic than the movie is.
  4. They kinda hid the poetry aspect of this. I get it would be hard to market but I wonder how people will react to that. Also it doesn't' look like a comedy from the trailer at all but according to wikipedia it is?
  5. Ok never mind I get the gist. A girl goes to meet her boyfriends parents in Singapore and it turns out they are basically like Royalty and his mom is a bitch.
  6. what are these movies about? Are they basically like Asian Gossip Girl type thing... Just wondering. I'm just wondering because I was looking up the books they are based on and there are so many
  7. Honestly Oakland cinema is killing it. Between Black Panther, Sorry to Bother You, This and even that Jinn movie. It's like an Oakland renaissance.
  8. OMG Daveed and Rafael. I'm so excited for this I can't wait for people to Rafael's genius <3 He's such a talent.
  9. It looks really good. Can't wait I still kinda wish they moved a little bit in the future but I'm so psyched for this
  10. omg i just read the actress who plays the daughter is deaf in real life. I'm so glad Krasiniski cast a deaf actress <3 I wanted to go see this before but I'll definitely support now. I really think this could break out to Get Out/Split levels. It looks great and different and intense. I honestly think the Pg-13/R thing is overblown. If a film is good it's good. The rating doesn't matter.
  11. I'm surprised at the good reviews for this. I'm also surprised it's not a total mysoginist movie like it seemed in the trailers lmao
  12. Yes it really sucks. The film is so good. It seemed like the perfect film to break out A+ cinemascore, great reviews, timely message, great audience reaction. Everyone who I know that has seen it loved it. I really don't get it's boxoffice performance so far. I'm recommending all my friends to se it. I'm hoping we can start seeing evidence of great legs soon. I still have hope for like 50 million.
  13. mm love simon is pacing only slightly ahead of Everything Everything right now...which is really not good considering that had way less hype and had mediocre reviews.
  14. I thought Boyega's acting was better than Ridley's in TFA. His role was just small and useless And his role was more shit in TLJ.... his whole plot line was irrelevant and he had half as much screen time
  15. I really thought this would be a bit hit the trailer has 23 million views on youtube like I know trailer views don't mean that much but it had a big marketing campaign, huge social media awareness, good reviews and a PG-13 rating. I guess gay films are still too niche and limited even for a teen audience. or teens just don't go to the movies that often. But like honestly Was expecting like a 20 million OW and like a final cross of like 80 million lol.
  16. I think the subject matter of Love Simon still isn't mainstream enough to lead to a high gross. I'm sure in many locations this movie didn't play well at all. That's why I roll my eyes when people say being gay is super accepted now. It really isn't. Like even my parents are proof of this lol. They are fairly liberal and are fairly homophobic.
  17. I thought for sure Love Simon would break out. The trailers were very appealing, it's PG-13 ad it had great reviews. Opening the same as Everything Everything is a bit surprising. Still hoping great word of mouth will help it at least reach 50-60 million
