The conspiracies over Marvel are stupid as hell too but Marvel movies get good reviews and all have above 80% on RT. This movie is 45% on RT. Considering barely anyone has seen it the complaints about critics going soft are completely unwarranted.
The idea that critics are “contorting” themselves to like a movie with 43% on RT and 54 on meractitic is ludicrous. Some white ppl are exhausting. It really seems they are annoyed that BP was so critically praised but can’t fault it due to its massive box office take and amazing legs so far so they are using this movie as s proxy in some culture war they are trying to generate when it’s not warranted like at all.
when people are literally complaining that the score of 45% is too high and people are using kid gloves on the dretor because she's black obviously people are going to be defensive.
people were really acting pressed in this thread that a reviewer gave it 2.5 out of 4 lmao. Movieman89 is right. Some of y'all desperately want this to fail.
I've said it before and I said it again, Sucide Squad had one of the most aggressive and successful marketing campaigns ever. If it was actually a decent film it would have been a cultural phenomenon of sorts easily would of hit one billion without China.
If the film really is bad it might be a good thing she didn't accept Black Panther. We'll see though it might be too early to say. I personally LOVED Selma and love her show Queen Sugar. Maybe she is better for smaller projects.
Anyway if this film really is bad or mediocre ava is still doing a great job at marketing it and trying to ride off the Black Panther hype. But this would never get the same support that Black Panther or even Hidden Figures did from the black community anyway.
mm storm reid actually looks great as Meg. Good casting. I'm worried by how little we've seen of Charles Wallace though, he's such an important character. Reese pretty good honestly. Gugu's line delivery was kind of weird in this scene imo.
This really looks like it's geared towards young kids though but I don't think the book is that popular among kids nowadays.
Wait where did the rumour come from that the flash was going to address black activism? Just because the director was black and he cast a biracial actress he had worked with before as iris? Lol I thought that was a stupid rumour started on 4chan. I didn’t know that was be My accepted as truth.
