lol someone I follow on twitter (an acquaintance) saw an early screening for it and said she was surprised at how much white people seemed to love it and it kinda creeped her out. So maybe it will break out. I still think it will turn to many people off. but idk. I guess we'll see.
It's weird how horror movies are kind of known to marginalize black characters heavily since one of the most significant early horror movies that revolutionized the genre had a black main character with "Night of the Living Dead"
Anyway I loved Split and I'll definitely love this i think. Looks like the perfect movie to go see with a group of friends lol. This year has been good for horror films. Hopefully this does well at the BO.
if this got decent reviews like even around 55% it would be huge but I'm thinking it might get panned which will hurt it's boxoffice. This definitely has hype right now though. it will do well especially among boys like age 8-16 and the nostalgia crowd. (girls might be to occupied with Beauty and the beast but it will do well with them too)
the trailers views on YT alone mean nothing but you have took at over all social media activity. like it has almost 900,000 likes on FB I made a club a while ago about it opening over 50 million. I'll bump it
mm I'm debating how much this grosses. "If I stay" made 50 million domestic. Me Before you made 56 (however this film was HUGE overseas) but Paper Towns only made 32 million even with John green's huge fanbase. I guess it depends if it gets mediocre or terrible reviews.
Maybe like 14 OW 40 total?
People are underestimating pre teen/teen male demo like boys age 8-15 aren't going to care about BATB (and believe me I'm predicting HIGH numbers for BATB) This will benefit from that.
