Kathryn Bigelow... Forgotten beast apparently. Near Dark... Strange Days... Point Break... Hurt Locker. Love them all. Not sure what's she done since Detroit though. But, yeah, I saw that oversight too. Does everyone still love Seven Beauties? Might be my favorite movie directed by a woman... Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Ohhhh, yeah. Wanna post the YouTube clip of the opening of that one here but not sure it appropriate so I'll just drop the poster here.

Oppenheimer Friday night. Barbie...eventually. I'll wait until the crowds die down for it a bit and help it's later legs. There's a fair chance I see Haunted Mansion, Mutant Mayhem and Meg 2 then catch it in August after that because I'm not sure I'm seeing anything else that's new in August. I don't plan on seeing Blue Beetle at the moment though that could change. I'll probably catch Barbie before Talk To Me though. Or, maybe do a Barbie/Talk To Me double feature? That could be fun.

So far as Oppenheimer is concerned... It's going to have a remarkable OW DOM, it's going to have very, very good if not great legs and it's one of if not the best reviewed movie so far this year... This coming from someone that didn't love Tenet, Interstellar, TDKR, TDK or BB. I can't imagine anyone that was remotely intrigued by this one not being ecstatic. Bask in the glory and enjoy the moment.

When I was in my early late teens and had no money that My Fat Greek Wedding ticket stub was very handy. I could flash it to to ticket taker and they didn't blink... For months and months. I used it to see A LOT of movies not named My Big Fat Greek Wedding because that run just went on and on and on. Not like those runs but I remember Something About Mary having an insane run of its own too.

That's like one of the best things about getting older. Haha. I mean, aside from the very real fact that the heart itself deteriorates literally as we age part especially if people partake in extracurricular stuff... But, yeah, you don't care as much about the nonsense. It's great. It's liberating. It doesn't make one colder, just make one different than they were than say when they were in their early twenties.

Oh? Not for me. I guess I'm not that old quite yet but well into my thirties. Still plenty of fun. I'd say my thirties have been so fun that, health provided of course, I can't wait for my forties down the road. Imagine they'll be quite fun too. I'm a goober though. By design, live in a neighborhood where movie theater (not the one with Dolby/IMAX though), nightlife, grocery stores are all within a10 minute walk. I made things as manageable and easy for myself for maximum enjoyment of my hobbies and proximity of my needs as possible.

Yeah... I know you didn't mean this but I wanted to say cheers to all wonderful moms and dads out there and on this forum. Parents are wonderful by and large. Impressive humans. They're better than me. When my dad really wanted to see a movie, he'd write us all sick note so we'd blow off school and we'd go to a weekday matinee. This was wonderful. Anaconda was one of those events when I was just little pup. There were many others. It was great.

All of his movies lean into Western style or Hollywood stye. It's part of why he's so popular in the states and other Korean directors aren't as popular in the states... Only one that maybe isn't is Barking Dogs Never Bite. Maybe. Kinda is too though. He's been a name stateside since The Host in got a decent release stateside in 2007.

Cuaron had done a Potter though (the best one) and Gravity is heavy, heavy theatrical experience. That was a must in IMAX when it came out. Maybe Mickey is like that? Who knows? I also have some skepticism because as Bong fan since I watched Memories of Murder (I vividly remember that Netflix DVD rental coming in the mail haha) because The Host trailer looked cool to me, his non Korean stuff is easily his worst for me (Snowpiercer/Okja). Still very good but not nearly as memorable as his other stuff. So I expect Mickey to be very good but maybe not great.

is Netflix giving Narnia a wide, extended release in theaters? If so, I guess I'm slightly prone to agree with you. Was hoping she'd do the Nolan, Peele or whoever thing and do some huge budget OP. I'm sure she still will after Narnia though. But, seeing her do Narnia, Polley on Bambi and Barry Jenkins on Mufasa is pretty deflating for me... Makes me dread Bong or Peele or Ducournau or whoever doing the same. I hope they don't unless it's a super passion project thing or their own OP with a juicy budget.
