One of the few mediocre-to-good films Sandler has ever been in.
For the record, that exclusive club:
Punch Drunk Love
Reign Over Me
Funny People
The Wedding Singer
50 First Dates
Happy Gilmore
Billy Madison
Spanglish
Hotel Transylvania
Everything else ranges from bland/dull to crap to cinematic abomination.
How can an average human being lift a 2-ton vehicle off of a child when huge bodybuilders fail in similar attempts?

An incredibly wealthy movie agent with a wife WAY out of his league and who is the only guy who has any talent when it comes to sports/outdoor activities.
Yup, no FUCKING ego there!
You want a down to Earth Adam Sandler film, watch Reign Over Me.
Agreed. There's nothing wrong with liking a film like this (though pure MMA fans do see it as somewhat of a disgrace to the profession) for perverse pleasure, I was just stating that it's not exactly a good indication of a director who's going to hit a quality franchise picture out of the park.
I can pop in Night at the Roxbury any time for a laugh, but if you were to announce that John Fortenberry would helm the next Batman film, I'd have severe reservations.

A terrible film with bad comedy and horribly written attempts at "dramatic moments, and the character of Lenny is just another monument to Sandler's gigantic ego.
The Best HM productions would probably be the House Bunny and 50 First Dates, but neither is particularly "good".
Here's a list of directors with 2 or more films to their resume who have never made a single film any less quality than "Really Good"

That doesn't necessarily make them 'not overrated', but it makes a strong case.
Yet, according to your prerequisites, is automatically an inferior score to TDK b/c TDK is considered by the majority to be more "hummable" and memorable.
Aside from the pop songs, there is no one I know who hums the Zimmer score from TLK and few even remember it, but they sure remember a ton of Zimmer's scores from the TDK trilogy.
The absolutely phenomenal thing about Nolan's Batman films is that each can stand on its own with their own unique themes, but can also smoothly translate into cliffhangers for possible future films, each far more unique than Toy Story
Lotso = Stinky Pete with a new coat of paint, he even gets a typical "Just desserts" ending that feels even more like a rehash
Woody/rest of Andy's toys roles simply get reversed.
That's my opinion, so...
A movie with a VERY heavy-handed message and a predictable outcome (someone bringing down the whole system). Also, Foster sucked. Seriously, she was channeling Segal with how much dubbing she had used in place of her actual vocals
Still, Matt Damon was good and the effects were good.
However, Blomkamp's limitations in style are starting to show, the first opening frames of the film felt like they should have been accompanied by "Previously, on District Nine..."
I can't fathom how anyone could enjoy Revenge of the Fallen on any level. Aside from the usual plotholes and inconsistencies, every single, solitary character is annoying, detestable and unappealing, what plot there is goes absolutely nowhere, the humor is sub-Seltzerberg, and the action is noisy, frenetic, repetitive and dull as dishwater.
