  1. Fox had a deal with HBO before they got bought out. It's why none of the X-Men films are on the American version of Disney+, but they are on the international versions. One of the reasons Disney cant just put this on streaming is that until I think 2021/2022 it'd be going with them
  2. I mean this is way too expensive to not release in some form. Corman's film cost 1 million dollars and solely existed to keep the rights. Even if Disney's plan is to just wait out the HBO contract so they can dump it on streaming, it's gonna get a official release.
  3. The big shot this had at a billion was a combination of two things: opening above the first and maintaining similar legs. With both of those things very unclear (especially with everything now being crammed right up against each other to the degree that SEPTEMBER is even competitive) it's unlikely it'll hit a billion. And that's not even accounting for the very real possibility it gets pushed back again.
  4. I genuinely think they'd try a digital release if they can't get it out by the end of this year. Disney does still have to make SOME money.
  5. It does seem like one of the big things being played up is the Sersi/Whitman romance, based on the set photos. Love and Thunder is a Valentines date now too. Huh.
  6. Derrickson said he's the guy, and since he's still an executive producer that's all but official.
  7. Falcon maybe, but since half of WandaVision is a 3 camera sitcom even though it started filming after, it got a lot further ahead. That's how it moved from Spring 2021 to this year in the first place. Plus WandaVision wrapped filming in Atlanta with just some pickups left to do in LA. If they can start up by the fall they can totally make December.
  8. I mean WandaVision was (possibly still is?) this December, so at least that would've had plenty of time even if it wasn't delayed. From the sounds of Loki's plot it's connection is less the actual story and more stuff like the actual multiverse and maybe an appearance by Owen Wilson's character in that.
  9. With Fantastic Beasts on hold I'd be willing to bet Flash won't make that date. One of the big reasons Flash hasn't happened is because of Ezra Miller's obligations to shoot that first.
  10. TBH out of all the Marvel films that got moved this benefits the most from it (aside from Black Widow for fairly obvious reasons). May has been Marvel's "premiere" slot. All the May premieres since 2012 aside from Guardians 2 made a billion (including if you count Infinity War and Endgame, which were announced as May releases but moved up a week to the last week before May), and it's in the summer.
  11. That they're still pushing for this as a theatrical release and not just putting it on streaming indicates they think it has potential. It also mean odds are good Bobs Burgers gets at least another season so I'm fine with this.
  12. I'm surprised they pushed it far back as November, mainly because (spoilers, both for the Black Widow movie and another Marvel thing that if I say the name of kind of gives away the spoiler)
  13. I mean, that would make sense under normal circumstances, but right now the way things have developed we have no idea when "back to normal" is going to happen. They just hold onto Black Widow until, optimistically, late July, hope that people are still willing to go to theaters even if they reopen, and not swamped by the competition that also all got delayed to around the same time. It's not one film being delayed down the line, everybody will, and with all their parks shut down, movie theaters shut down, most of their live action productions shut down, Disney still needs to make money somehow and aside from toys and etc digital and streaming is their only real option.
  14. Wonder Woman will make way, way, way more Christmas than Dune ever will. Dune will be like Blade Runner 2: very, very good, but likely not a draw.
  15. Potentially crazy argument for it staying, but here me out: This'd be easier/less expensive than Mulan to use as a test for the market later on in the year. If it bombs Disney could move it quickly to Disney+ (similar to how they just rushed Frozen 2 onto there) with more access to a VOD audience. Eventually, SOMEONE is gonna have to be the one to see how audiences respond to a big film post-outbreak. A Marvel film a couple months out with a lot less competition than it was going to face wouldn't be a terrible way to test that.
  16. Do people want to see a movie about a guy who develops symptoms after coming into contact with a bat after someone doing exactly that has Gwenyth Paltrow in Contagion'd humanity
  17. Marvel does plan for reshoots as part of its regular schedule so I don't imagine they'll lose any time on this. If it's pushed back it'd be because other films in the slate get pushed.
  18. Wouldn't be too sure. Last one did 620, and that was before Ant-Man was the critical story element of a 2 billion dollar movie.
  19. Maybe they'll move it to Wonder Woman's June slot and dare that movie to move up ahead to may lmao
  20. First unit stops filming pending a coronavirus test from the director. Second unit still filming and production not stopping. Also set photos of what's reportedly the villain Ghostmaker
  21. But that doesn't mean Eternals would have to move. Black Widow could come out in July/August and it still wouldn't need to move. Marvel's released multiple films in a short timeframe before.
  22. They aren't going to push back their entire 2021 schedule like that. I don't see why Eternals has to move at all.
