    IS is trailing Gravity by 23% at the moment, but only making 65% of it in the dailies. If it would continue this it would end up with $190m DOM - not going to happen. The Thor2 comparison looks valid, but for the IMAX-deal (just imagine those poor giant IMAX-theaters having to watch their small neighbours who show Mockingjay1 taking all the money and they have to show Interstellar infront of forever dwindling audiences)

    after the opening weekend IS was 11% behind Gravity, now it is 23% behind it if it continues in that speed, we will see where it ends maybe 45% down

    Was not Collateral Damage delayed and/or modified because of 911? They were afraid if being accused to copy reality. If Newt was to similar to Rio (by chance or espionage), that would have hurt its reputation and BO.

    Jaws 1 and Jaws 2 had the same main actor and they were all marketed (at least in Austria) as sequels, with for ever diminishing returns

    Mad2 had dailies of half a million around Xmas with 2000 theaters

    but BH6 is nearer to Xmas to potentially exploit it more

    that means 10% drops less for 4 days $35m - maybe $4m more than Mad2 any chance for $200m depends on who has better Xmas holds cute Penguins or a cute Robot

    having the future fullfill the past is the trick to get around the paradoxa in classic mythological stories and fairy tales there are the bad prohecies (fortune tellings) the protagonist wants to escape, but whatever he does to avoid fate the predicted event will be caused by his acts no matter what

    In Summer when I asked, why should IS make significantly more than Gravity, I was told, because it is Nolan. Well it is making significantly lesss than Gravity. OS might be a different story, but probably because of the actors and not because of the director.

    the transpiring of the merger talks pulled the Hasbro stock so much down, that the talks ended very quickly
