New Year holidays is a weird time in Russian box ofiice. With 8 days out of work sometimes even pretty average films could gross a lot of money.

That would be 10% better than current record of PoTC4. And 60% better than Ice Age 3. You see the problem of new people not coming to theaters still exist. And frequent moviegoers obviously cant go to every big release. Madagascar 3 after a rather mild start did quite good though.

Actually first day gross should be very close to Ice Age 3 three years ago. But the screen count almost doubled (2090 vs 1099).

One of our my colleagues published an article blaming local distributor for incredibly poor marketing and lack of effort with TDKR. That its distributor simply doesnt care about TDKR gross or success.

Yes, theaters report that it is definitely not doing higher than Mad3. In some theaters even lower. The only hope is better weekend multiplyer.

Early estimates from kinometro are between 600 and 620 mln RUB. I would say even a bit lower with estimated 130 mln RUB first day. First day gross should be similar to Madagascar 3. Spider-Man will drop around 65% but spanish I want you is holding much better. Updated numbers will come later this evening.
