So Brave grossed estimated $5.6 mln. 3rd best for Pixar actually. But $3.9mln on 1482 screens for Abraham Lincoln is a total disaster. And people thought it will be very big here.

Around 5.5 multiplyer looks fair enough. So I'd say 5-3-5.5 mln opening and 13-14m total max.

A distributor reported yesterday 10m second weekend for Mad3 but other sourses give numbers between 8 and 9 mln. So I decided to wait a bit. And May wasn't that strong. Actually it dipped below 2011 thanks to weak rouble. $132.02 vs $139.42 in 2011 16,992,297 tickets sold vs 17,747,931

Probably around 6.5m or even slightly more. Last week with dismal multiplyers was an exeption.

In RUB yes. In USD it should be close. In admissions certainly not.

Looks like after Wednesday Mad3 has around 3.75mln admissions. The second had 5.24 mln after 7days in release. Thanks to much higher ticket prices the third is stlil leading in gross. At least in RUB.

Strong Wednesday I suppose. Nothing suggest big drop so far. Except probable Snow White breakout but that seams very unlikely.

So actual grosses are 511 mln RUB or 15.7m$.2.27mln admissions vs 2.98 mln in 2008.

Our distributors and theaters owners simply dont want to hear that. Russians love 3D and IMAX, they love to supportthat myth. Social polarization is very strong but with 150m population (around 190mln with other CIS countries) you still can find enough people to fill movie theaters. Even with $20-24 for IMAX. Remember that it is very often one theater for 100.000-200.000 of population or even more. Nearly 15 mln people live in Moscow alone and there standards of life are much higher. So Moscow alone provides nearly a third of Russian box office. But still people there are already complaining about ticket prices. And there is not enough discounts and other such measures to provide less expensive tickets for poor or frequent moviegoers. And in movie theaters everyhing is much more expensive. A usual Coke costs 3 times more than in supermarket nearby.

But still you dont have salaries like 200-300 euro per month like many russians.

Having tickets prises similar to France or Spain is definitely bad. Becouse people are much poorer.
