  1. Official numbers for The Amazing Spider-Man 301,447,284 RUB for the weekend and 334,964,997 with previews. 7th best start in 2012. Madagascar 3 grossed $760,633 with 47,758,463 total.
  2. Probably it will be well below Spider-Man 3 in admissions. With 1500 screens against 560 screens in 2007.
  3. 301mln RUB without previews vs 326mln for Prometheus, 330 mln for Battleship and 370 mln for Wrath of Titans.
  4. Apparently Spidey is doing not very good in Russia. Weekend estimate dropped to $10.25m and that is including IMAX previews. Without them it's only $9.23m. Spanish I want you grossed estimated $2.46m. Refined numbers will come later.
  5. And The Amazing Spider-Man also grossed 1.04m from IMAX previews.
  6. It will be probably the 2nd best gross for an entirely european film in Russia. After French Asterix and Obelix 3 with $8.5m. Asterix and Obelix in Britain this October should gross at least $13-15 mln.
  7. Thursday estimates1. Amazing Spider-Man 2,366,0002. I Want You 621,0003. Brave 202,0004. Abraham Lincoln 156,0005. To Rome With Love 122,000
  8. Apparently if early rumors are true I Want You aka Tengo ganas de Tí should gross at least $2.5 mln for the weekend.
  9. Unfortunately nearly all this increase will be thanks to growing ticket prices. In 2007 the average ticket price for Spider-Man 3 was 131 RUB. Now it should be at least 230-240 RUB.
  10. Looks like kinometro was on spot with Spider-Man predictions. Should be similar to Wrath of Titans (370 mln RUB) or a bit higher. Brave should drop at least by 60% but Madagascar 3 still doing pretty good.
  11. According to my friends Tengo ganas de ti started really strong. Definitely will become the highest grossing spanish movie in Russia. And a big success for its independent distributor too.
  12. Actually everyone is talking now about creating russian movie quota for theaters.
  13. Preliminary numbers for the first half of the year.Total gross: $682.51 mlnTotal tickets 92,879,736Local films gross $114.15 mlnLocal films share 16.7%June box office $102.87m vs $89.9m in 2011Total tickets 15,165,193 vs 12,665,484 in 2011
  14. Kinometro predicts 350mln RUB for Spider-Man ($10.9 mln). Other sites give it between 400 and 440 mln RUB. The big wild card this weekend is a spanish movie called I Want You. It's a sequel and the first film is very popular among young people and teens. Kinometro believes it could be a mini-breakout with 45mln RUB ($1.4 mln). The others give it only 500-600k for the weekend. Funny weekend to watch overall.
  15. It's more a tradition than anything else. So we write and say Гарри Поттер but Харрисон Форд.
  16. Our distributor desided not to report Spider-Man preview numbers. So most likely they will be included in the opening weekend numbers.Provisional numbers for the top101. Brave 3,792,426 - 11,930,706 -29,7%2. Abraham Lincoln 2,652,349 - 8,932,200 -37,3%3. Madagascar 3 1,939,708 - 46,093,321 -43,4%4. Magic Mike 1,579,6755. Snow White and The Huntsman 831,303 - 11,906,5086. LOL 459,2487. The Five Year Engagement 411,0848. Moonrise Kingdom 258,831 - 691,882 -16,7%9. Prometheus 164,952 - 21,702,176 -56,1%10. Men in Black 3 102,062 -36,498,510 -51,7%
  17. Looks like Spider-Man grossed $650,000 in IMAX previews. Much less than The Avengers.
  18. In 2008 the market already grew enough to have huge hits. And dont forget that russian ruble fell 20% compared to 2008.
  19. By the way Mad3 should pass 1.5 bln RUB and it will be very close to passing Puss in Boots total in RUB (1529.7m)
  20. Kinometro still predicts 800mln RUB total for Spider-Man (24m) and 700mln (21m) for Dark Knight. 1900mln for Ice Age 4 (58m) and 400 mln for Step Up 4 (12m). The rest of July releases are mostly rubbish
  21. Thursday1. Brave 675,0002. Abraham Lincoln 485,0003. Madagascar 3 337,0004. Snow White and The Hunter 143,0005. LOL 108,000No news from Magic Mike. Very good drops for all 3d releases thanks to no such openers. 33% drop for Brave and particularly 38% drop on week 4 for Madagascar 3 are truly amazing.
  22. I am not sure we will get previews numbers this week anyways.
  23. This week http://kinometro.ru/...iyun-28-iyul-1/The marketplace is dead for a moment.
  24. Our theaters strictly prohibit people from coming with their own food. Mostly because everything is so much cheaper outside. About a year ago a women sued a theater because they wanted her to leave for coming with some food or drink. She sued and won but that didnt changed much. Many theaters would rather lose money than drop a price. And because many people will stay out of theaters anyway they try to charge fanboys and frequent moviegoers as high as they can.
