  1. You are baffled by everything this movie makes.
  2. So smashes records in Hong Kong and Singapore, is that good for its Chira run? I know it won't smash records there on opening, but the long term?
  3. http://www.deadline.com/2012/05/avengers-now-260-5m-overseas-could-reach-585m-worldwide-through-sunday-with-u-s-canada-russia-china-openings/
  4. Well, each of its days was record breaking. Biggest Wednesday Ever: P56.6-M, beating “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’s” P55.4-M. 5. With a weekend of only one free day and two working days (Friday+Saturday) that would be kind of difficult.
  6. Sweet deal. No wonder it's so popular.
  7. You guys don't have another secret holiday nobody else in the world has heard of right?
  8. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Workers%27_Day
  9. Till 1990 under the communist it was a pretty strict holiday with a lot of marches. But now it's take it easy and get out of the capital if the weather is good holiday.
  10. I have no idea what Labour Day is in Canada/US, but the 1st of May has the same name in some countries, maybe also the same idea?ETA: Yep, they are related, accourding to http://en.wikipedia....al_Workers'_Day
  11. Well, it had 559.619 admits. for the opening weekend and today on insidekino.de they report that : "The Avangers is also very strong. With 816k admits till yesterday it has as good as passed Iron Man total admits (818K admits total, OW 308.504 admits) in just 6 days. (It was released there on Thursday.)" http://insidekino.de/News.htm
  12. And do we consider the very big rise in piracy, some people not wanting to pay the increased amount of money for a ticket or other factors when we compare movies from more than 1 or 2 years ago. Just because one movie sold y amount of tickets x years ago doesn't mean that it will sell them today, with current conditions. Because if that's the case, lets all worship Gone with the Wind, Star Wars (the 1977 one) or The Sound of Music (No re-releases, ever)and be done with it. There isn't a movie that's going to break those records in attendance.Lets see what Amazing Spider-man does this year in Mexico and then we can compare it and TA with an even playing field. The reality is this - what 99.9% of people measures records in the movie business is money made at the time of release.
  13. It's already in the Top 10 OW ever just after the first 2 days. 14. I like the sound of that http://www.deadline.com/2012/04/marvels-the-avengers-breaking-records-overseas-already-after-todays-early-release/
  15. Yeah, and one mentions the option once or twice, not in every thread one can find. As I said, if you had read carefully, it's about how many times you state your option, not about having one which everyone is this forum is welcomed to express, even you and I.
  16. And the weather today and tomorow [according to forecasts] in Spain is pretty rainy, so that could help.
  17. Great. So in TDKR OS thread one can speculate what such a market can do for the film's box office performance. There is no need to post in multiple threads where people are happy with TA's results so far and rain on their parade. We understood you don't believe in TA potential, so maybe you should go and discuss that in whichever under/over thread you like.
  18. Yes, as you have pointed out in every tread. :rolleyes:Hong Kong tread. One day later: and right now is projected to beat TF3 OW record. So yes, we got that you don't believe TA will be a big success OS and will break one or two records. No need to point it out all the time.
  19. Here I don't agree with you. They are most successful in Summer thanks to the fact that its school holidays.Good weather in Europe in Spring can hurt a movie.
  20. It's the same here, we have 4 days holiday now and the capital is half empty. But using that logic isn't it not so bad to open next weekend, so many people are in the city, even if Saturday is officaly work day. [if it's the same as here, most people are out of the office by 2-3 pm, nobody waits for 5 or 6.]
