Word. Guardians was a lot more appealing and "fresh" than pretty much every other summer movie this year. That definitely had a big hand in getting these numbers.

Cause pessimism is fun. If Guardians "only" gets a $70-80 million OW out of this somehow that'll still be a huge success and nobody better dare call that underwhelming. If it drops 61% next weekend after that, then I guess we can start getting kind of bummed out.

Yeah. Skyfall didn't start filming until November/December 2011 if I recall correctly. Production started on the same day of the title announcement, if I'm not mistaken.

Hoping it can pull ahead or at least on par with TWS sometime. I can definitely understand the lower start, it seems like GOTG is on a bit less screens than they were, and less screens means less early shows.
