  1. Wahlberg did pretty good in Lone Survivor I'd say. But yeah he's typically better as an angry dickish character.
  2. I'm really pleasantly surprised by that Apes number. The marketing just didn't have a whole lot of "kick" behind it. I was seriously expecting it to come in much lower. I'm seeing it tonight with some friends. I loved Rise so hopefully I'll love this one as well.
  3. $27.7 is a great number for Apes. Lowest I see it going from there is $68-69 million.
  4. Yeah I'm not sure it will be a good thing. But I mean, that's "change" isn't it? Not really knowing anything other than some things are definitely going to be done differently.
  5. Haven't we learned by now to trust Rth and only him? To hell with Variety and Deadline. I only go by what Rth and/or Spatula says.
  6. WOAH holy fuck. Possible $30 million for Apes off of only $4 million from Thursday? Hail Caesar
  7. College is pretty expensive. I'm broke pretty much all the time. Even with loans and support from my parents. I'm in so much debt and I've still got a couple of years to go.
  8. That's the great thing about America, you could totally get in if you have the money.
  9. I feel meeting up with people I met on the internet could be incredibly, uncomfortably awkward.
  10. I had this idea that GotG could essentially be sort of an Iron Man-lite. I mean, I'll be 100% honest when I say Guardians has pretty much the same immense sense of freshness I got when seeing those Iron Man clips in 2008. It was just such a huge breath of fresh air compared to all the would-be comic book movie franchises being shoved down our throats in previous years (with some notable exceptions) And I dunno, Guardians just seems like it could break out in a similar but smaller scale to what IM1 did.
  11. Well, when I say "good legs" I guess I really mean "better legs than the other big openers this summer"
  12. $60-70 million seems possible. tbh I'd rather have a $70 million opener with good legs like Maleficent than another $90 million opener than just crashes and burns after one week.
  13. That sounds really good, actually. Though Godzilla was in mid-May, so it's of course going to have lower matinee's by default. But at the same time Apes is also the type of movie to really pick up post 4pm and the fact that it is so far ahead of Rise is certainly a good thing.
