    But just because its from Marvel doesn't mean its a downright tried and true superhero movie. I haven't seen it yet but one of the big reasons I've been interested in it for so long is because it looks like a change of pace for Marvel then the same old recycled concepts.

    I hope Guardians replicates IM1's opening from 2008 or something. That would honestly be enough to redeem them lackluster summer for me.

    Still, Guardians has less of an overall built in fanbase than Cap and Cap also has the sequel effect. I know being part of the Marvel Universe in general is a boost but the fact that this is even a possibility is incredible.

    It's not like I'm getting plastered and then going to the theater. No, I mean a couple of shots with a couple of drinks. Can thoroughly increase the enjoyment of certain movies. Seeing Bad Grandpa tipsy was one of the best moviegoing choices I made last year.

    Guys, poor WOM or not, Lucy is doing $100 million. Unlike Noah, it has summer weekdays to boost it.

    This might be the most interesting weekend all summer. That's fantastic for both openers. No way Lucy misses $40 million and Hercules is gonna near $30 million.This weekend proves both ScarJo and The Rock's star power.

    This might be the most underpredicted weekend from us all summer. So many people just knew Hercules wouldn't do much more than it's Friday number for the whole weekend, and Lucy was still mainly predicted for high 20's even after tracking came out that said it could do $40 million.

    If Lucy opens to $35-40 million is it safe to say ScarJo is a draw on her own? I mean yeah there was Morgan Freeman in bits but the spots/trailers were all focused on her. Should bode well for that apparently talked-about Black Widow solo film.

    Superheroes have been popular since the 40's... maybe before. Just because the movies based on them took off in the past decade doesn't mean they haven't always been popular.
