How did Halloween Kills make more than Bond?? 😐
-
I love the show as well

Love that WB is doing this. Keeping the DCEU front of mind for the fans.

Stephen King’s work has been adapted so many times — sometimes by King himself. What would you like to see next? It can be either a remake or a novel/novella that hasn't been adapted yet for TV or film.

Kristen nails the role physically. Hope the story is balanced and is not a hagiography of Diana (i.e. Diana = perfect but always depressed; everyone else = bad and just have it out for Diana). Either way, Kristen's striking similarity makes me want to see this film.

It was fantastic. Adam Driver carried the show. Loved Matt Damon as well. Another solid effort by the octogenarian, Ridley Scott.

That was a crazy summer for setting opening weekend records. Temple of Doom, then Ghostbusters and then Batman all set opening weekend records.
1989? Batman? You mean Last Crusade?
-
Ghostbusters was the first film I remember seeing in a theater (drive through). Good memories.

Did not know that. Thanks. Lol

Thanks. Has the veil been lifted somewhat on how subscription/streaming plays into determining profitability?

@Barnack has the calculus changed since the pandemic as far as studio/theater revenue breakdowns?

What did Safin have against Bond? Madeline I get due to her Mr. White/Spectre connection. What did he have against Bond, the man who put Blofeld away?

Am looking at 18.5-19 for 007 and 12.5 for V2. Let's check in couple of hours.
Two questions:
1. we have someone with a similar name on WOKJ. Same person?
2. And are you like rth? Someone with early exhibitor tracking access…
I was a high volume poster in the early 2000s (BOM boards). More of a lurker now so excuse the ignorance. 🙂

I'll go a step further than lilmac. I found this to be hot garbage. I loved Wong, both times he was in it. I loved everything up until the end of the bus scene. After that it just completely falls off the rails imo. It's soulless and generic and we've seen it all before. Yes, super hero movies have their tropes they have to follow, but after Black Panther and then IW and EG, seeing two massive groups of people fight each other isn't really all that thrilling anymore. And the final act with the dragons and the octopi looking things and Shang being worthy enough to get the rings, it just seemed way too cgi heavy and too much like a theme park ride.
I didn't care for the Mandarin stuff at all.
If this isn't the worst MCU movie, it's pretty close imo.
3/10
It’s so good to see your posts buddy. Not sure if you remember but we go back almost 20 years (BOM forums). We had a contest, closely watched by all, for first to 1000 posts. Lol. This was June-August 2002 timeframe.

Well this is behind black panther for the most overrated movies in the MCU.
Well enjoyed the start of the film, things started to go sideways in the bus scene .
Pros
-tony leung and the flashbacks
- fascinating world and creatures
-Akwafina was alot better than I expected.
- 1st post credit scene.
- michelle yoeh
Mixed
-Simi lui fell flat for me. Having Akwafina by his side really helped. He just wasn't charismatic or compelling even with the rich backstory he is given .
-Third act . Though I loved it for it's Zany nature . CGI was wonky AF. The way shangchi earns and masters the rings was rushed .
-Well trevor slattery felt kind of forced into the movie.
Cons
Side characters were all one dimensional and boring. Blue ninja with a mask whatever his name was wasted .trailers made it seem like he was going to affect shangchi more.
Worst character goes to the sister
Who was just so bland and unlikable for me. No chemistry btn her and shangchi, the way she treats him in the cage fight. yeah the she trained herself trope I guess 🤷🏿♂️ .
GCi and compositing was really bad in parts and took me out of the movie at times and it really messed up some of the well chereographed sequences in the film.
Overall fascinating world betrayed by a weak script and mediocre and bland characters with exception of leung and Akwafina and we'll bad CGI .

The James Bond franchise is rejoicing at these numbers. I wonder how it will affect ScarJo and Russo Brothers (Secret Wars movie) negotiations

ShangChi opening day was 25% lower than BLACK WIDOW’s. Their Saturdays were even and SHANG-CHI’s Sunday looks to be around 24% higher. Premium Access kills repeat ticket sales. SHANG-CHI will absolutely outgross Black Widow overall.

I would prefer DVDs with rewatchability.
In no particular order:
1) Inception
2) The Passion of the Christ
3) Elf
4) Spirited Away
5) The Lion King (1994)
6) The Prince of Egypt
7) Citizen Kane
8 ) The Wizard of Oz
9) Singin' in the Rain
10) Napoleon Dynamite
As an avid Netflix DVD service subscriber I hope Netflix will transition to blu rays with no increase in price.

I want this to do well. Hoping the boxoffice is back for good by then. No Mu or Omega variants please, God.
-
Hoping for 1970s Coppola and not Tetro Coppola.

B-/C+
This is what Black Panther could have been without the sure direction of Coogler.
Pros-Awkwafina
-creature and world design
-Mandarin’s scenes (although I didn’t like that he felt he needed to apologize for IM3)-Lucy Liu
Cons
-tired female trope (coed fights are so predictable in that the female always wins, their characters are also invariably nobler, man=bad)
- confusing fight scenes at times and for me martial arts scenes can be repetitive-disjointed and confusing climactic scene of him fighting the Final dragon Boss
-villain was not that evil. He was motivated by love of his wife.- 2

I hope there's a way for Holland to opt out of any non-MCU Spidey cameos or films. He's the best Peter Parker we've ever had and I'd hate for him to have to appear in Sony led films.
-
No Chadwick but I have faith in Coogler and Feige.
-
I never stopped. LOL
I don't wear masks in the theater because we don't have to in my state (as of now). The only limiting factor is the supply of theater worthy films. Shang Chi and Bond are on my near-term to-do list.
