  1. Looking forward to this, it has all the things I like: Spielberg, Hanks, Streep, great supporting cast and story about journalism
  2. Visually Coco is more impressive. But the most stunning visually in the recent Pixar movies is The Good Dinosaur, I bet that's more expensive considering it had production delay as well
  3. Personally I liked Boss Baby and I consider one of the few box office standouts for animation this year I hope Coco does really maximize its box office potential
  4. Good start for Coco! I hope it continues to do great numbers through out the holiday weekend. And I also hope Wonder continues its impressive box office run!
  5. The Frozen holiday special was originally planned as a TV special to air on ABC that's why it's really long as it was designed for TV. Disney just decided earlier this year to screen it in the theaters. Perhaps Disney wanted to protect Coco's box office so they attached it to the movie and if helps Coco I'm all for it! I did like the holiday special, it gets you in the holiday spirit and also has some stunning animation that looks great on a big screen. I'm sure Elsa's holiday gown will be a bestselling doll Anyway, with over 100 reviews Coco has settled with 95% rating on RT! I love this movie so much so I really, really hope it will be a box office smash
  6. I can't help but feel worried for Coco's box office. I really don't want it to flop because how lovely the movie is
  7. Slightly worried about it honestly. I've seen Coco and it will be a heartwarming crowd pleaser for sure. I hope the market is strong enough for both movies to do well
  8. A key Mama Coco scene will hit a chord to a lot of parents for sure
  9. The Good Dinosaur is so stunning visually, all the details pour into it so that's why I was really sad it was a flop So beautiful to watch in the big screen, home video couldn't really replicate it

  11. I think Coco is a good movie to watch for Thanksgiving and the holidays just for its strong family story. I really hope it resonates it deserves it. I like TGD but I had feeling while watching it that it wouldn't connect that much because at some point that movie's energy dragged. Coco is not that, it's very engaging from start to finish and I imagine the ending would be a big crowd pleaser. It's hard not to really
  12. The Frozen Holiday special was intended for TV and it does feel a little off to watch a "long" short before a Disney-Pixar movie but I liked it, it gets you in the holiday mood If it helps Coco not go the TGD route, I'm all for it lol
  13. I also go to AwardsWatch and it's really quite interesting how BOT and AW really differ in what topics are talked about, really different worlds. There the superhero movies are barely talked about except something like Wonder Woman and Thor: Ragnarok but mainly that's because of Cate Blanchett lol I'm impressed the movie has kept its 100% RT rating this long
  14. What's with the title Roman J. Israel, Esq? That's so not market-friendly
  15. We do commemorate our departed ones during Nov. 1 and 2 here in the Philippines and cemeteries are packed on those days where it's common for families to spend overnight and have some sort of picnic there as well. It's quite similar to Dia de Muertas although it's not as festive. Anyway, I do think the movie would resonate to a broad audience mostly because of the strong family ties (even beyond the grave) that the movie highlights
  16. I attended an advanced screening last night here in the Philippines and I LOVE this movie. Funny, tender and heartwarming. Yes the narrative is a little conventional for a Pixar original but it's very well0produced and focused. But most of all the movie's strength is that it has a BIG heart! The twist is something one could easily figure out midway but still it does not take away from the reveal and the two key scenes made me sob both involving the song REMEMBER ME! Mexico's culture was wonderfully represented here, vivid and colorful. The Philippines actually share some similar culture with Mexico actually especially the family side so we could relate it to as well Overall, lovely film and a wonderful addition to Pixar's filmography I've seen THE BOOK OF LIFE as well. I also love it but COCO is very different! The only similarity is the setting up the story on the holiday but they have different focus, style and narrative (I didn't mind OLAF'S FROZEN ADVENTURE because it was so festive and sets up the holiday mood very well and if it helps Coco's box office then it's good! but the movie is a crowdpleaser)
