  1. You know it's truly the weekend thread when there's yet another ongoing discussion about the Star Wars sequels.
  2. Kind of funny considering "Friday" basically includes a chunk of Thursday at this point for opening day.
  3. I only just recently saw all the behind the scenes pics on Jon Plandau's instagram he posted last year and I'm intrigued to see what the sequel is going to do tech wise. Avatar's 3D was super impressive, but things like the entirely CGI-ed water or motion capture was also what blew me away back in 2009. It was just insane to see this entire generated environment looking so incredibly good. Also always enjoyed Cameron's films. The Abyss from him is one of my all time favorite films though I know it's not on everyone's lists heh. If they could do this right and promote it well I can totally see it going for another crazy box office run.
  4. Yes, I totally am paid by her team to talk positively about her on a movie box office forum. Her team pays me in NFTs of her and Holland.
  5. Dude, your obsession with this is bordering on creepy. If you don't care about her just don't talk about it then lol.
  6. The Goblin fight in the condo was also a highlight for me. I forgot how strong and brutal he was. You could tell Dafoe really enjoyed that role just hamming the hell out of it.
  7. That did not seem to be romantic pair imo, movie would have made it more obvious. Holland's acting in that scene was great. You could see the heartbreak in his eyes as he made his choice after internally realizing that she would always be in danger if she knew him.
  8. Def use incognito mode for Youtube that way your own personal video recommendations don't get mucked if you say searched "No Way Home" once and the algorithm thinks you're interested in more NWH vids.
  9. There's an in-universe explanation anyways for Harry Potter, but I get your point. I just wish Strange mentioned that everything would forget you which would kind of bother me less about the that specific wording. Unless it was for plot purposes My other thoughts were Garfield really stole the show. Maguire was alright but he seemed to be playing more of an older type Spider-Man who's made peace with his choices. Garfield on the other hand was fantastic and really showed his emotions. The meta discussion in the film on web shooters was hilarious. Very happy to see Charlie Cox's cameo which everyone seemed to know about for awhile lol. Giacchino's soundtrack is good but that bit of Elfman's music when Maguire's Spiderman talks to Sandman show's who's boss still in my opinion.
  10. Have to give props to Holland for this one. He's always been okay for me but this movie finally makes it feel like he's center stage. The VFX work was absolutely spectacular. Emotional and fun. Very much enjoyed the movie overall. Fan service was a bit heavy but I didn't really mind. It was needed after a depressing year.
  11. Fair. I just assumed from the wording in the movie everyone forgets him, but probably didn't go into too much detail for the convenience of clean slate. Oh well.
  12. I'm a little confused about the forget spell. What about the footage recorded of people talking about Peter Parker being Spiderman, does this all get erased too in their files or youtube videos or whatever? Seems way too convenient even for a superhero movie. Also I'm kind of bored of the whole let's fight bad guys away from everything else deliberately. I wanted to see some swinging in the city and barely got that. Makes the forest scene or Statue of Captain America's Shield fight a very unexciting backdrop. I wonder if they even de-aged Willem Dafoe since he's got one of those old man faces. Molina they did a good job on but it looked wonky in some scenes. The VFX work in the Doctor Strange fight was absolutely incredible. If that's just a hint of what we'll get in DS2 looking forward to it. The VFX teams deserve all the bonuses
  13. Ah yes, we're at the part of the COVID debate where alleged anecdotes count more than research or statistics themselves. Okay then. Also we're going a bit offtopic here. There's a COVID thread for this discussion.
  14. The prologue really showcases Trevorrow's horrid writing just by the chopper dialogue alone. Plus the direction, complete lack of suspense (The most tense part was how awful that kissing was) and cheesy shots constantly. Does make me wish for a Walking with Dinosaurs remake with CGI on this level though.
  15. I guarantee though there are always reshoot and pickup days built into a film with that kind of budget. Anyways my point is at the end of the day it doesn't mean anything to indicate quality that much besides whatever people or fans like to imagine.
  16. Just to make this clear, this doesn't mean anything though. Pickup shots in movies that large are pretty common.
  17. Are you saying you don't enjoy CBM fan/arguments leaking into every thread? 🤔
