In what world does this fail to hit $300m? It's going to have a $45m+ 2nd wkend and a <20% drop. Unless it suddenly starts dropping much harsher in the next few weeks, this should easily top 300m.
-
Ok, this is totally giving off an avatar vibe. I was very confident with 300m before....I'm now completly comfortable callig it a lock. 350 is the new target.

Hmmmm....so anyone foresee a >30m third weekend for gravity? If it does 40m this weekend, it could do it with a -25% drop.
-
250m is locked.....high 200's/low 300's is where it's headed.

There are no over reactions. Yes, IMAX mitigated the Monday drop, but dropping less than 61% is stellar no matter how you spin it

I have an inkling that this film is going to absolutely blow up! Not quite the level that we saw with Avatar.....but we're going to see some very very good legs for this. 300M seems very likely....but could it do more?

If Alfonso Cauron doesn't win best director at this year's Academy Awards, it would be outrageous. He is easily one of the best directors of our generation...up there with Del Toro, Nolan, Aronfsky and Cameron.
I saw this fillm last night and I am still in awe. With out a doubt, the most significant film to be released within this new millennium.
A+

Gravity could be frotloaded this weekend due to the insane hype that the film generated over the past few weeks. But once wom kicks in, this should have amazing legs. This was the best 'blockbuster' film I've seen in years! I believe there is 200m+ potential here....and maybe even more. This should have a serious curiosity factor among general audience
-
A 31% increase for Prisoner's is stellar! The WOM is already kicking in. 80m+ seems very likely...wonder if it can get up to 90M or even 100M though.

I can't believe WTM is still in >3000 theatres. Its been out since the beginning of August!! Amazing run/legs

I'm loving the run for We're The Millers. Its been out for well over a month already, and still in the top 3! Wow!
-
Excellent hold for We're The Millers!! If it keeps this up 140M could be on the table.
-
Despicable Me 2 out grossed the conjuring this weekend in Canadian theatres? That's surprising. How big was the gap?
-
You guys are crazy. SS/COS/POA are miles ahead of all the other films.
John Williams is a musical genius.

Kate winslet and Leonardo dicaprio!! And when they're together....it's pure magic. Look no further than revolutionary road. Couldn't imagine how that film would have turned out with different leads.

TITE is having great legs. 100m looks almost certain at this point. Still, wish it could have done knocked up #'s though

Well GoF and HBP are interesting comparisons. GoF sacrificed a lot of character moments for action, and HBP sacrificed a lot of action for character moments. So it all comes down to what you prefer.
HBP is one of the most visually stunning films I've ever seen. The cinematography is still my favorite aspect of the film. It's just so beautiful to look at. I feel like this could have been the perfect film in the series if they added a few more memory scenes and deleted out the attack on the burrow, which is a HUGE blemish on the film. And I agree with Noctis, the scene with the birds was very emotional.. It gave me a lump in the throat the first time I watched it - first time for a HP film! This film is also the most timeless entry in the series, along with DH1, SS and PoA. Those are the 4 movies that i think are going to hold up the best in the next ten years. CoS, GoF, and OOTP will be forgotten.
I watched GoF not that long ago, and it wasn't nearly as good as I remembered it. Its lost its charm and wit, that I enjoyed so much on my first few viewings. One scene I really enjoyed though was Moody's DADA class where he teaches the students about the unforgiveable curses, and Neville walks out obviously devastated. That scene was stellar.
HBP: 8/10
GOF: 6/10

Am I the only one that thinks MU could stay flat today? Or even have a tiny increase?
-
I fucking knew it. If Nikki had any credibility what so ever, she officially lost all of it. That 17M number made zero sense.....
I would say there should be a rule banning all information she posts onto her website. Although I would miss the entertaining roller-coaster rides.

Great numbers all around. Monster's University looks poised to do around 90M+ this weekend if it can hit that 32M today.

300m is locked guys. How could anybody deny that? 19 films have had a 3rd weekend >30m and only two films (Up & Chamber of Secrets) failed to hit 300m - although adjusted for inflation they both are well above 300m. I'd say 320m is as low as this is going.
