    I agree the records and the gross is most impressive, but it doesn't change the fact that they are terrible movies. They arent bad because they are badly made, they are bad because they are based on an absolute abortion of a book series. They never stood a chance unless they were comprehensively re-written to the point of being unrecognizable.

    Titans deserves this low take. Its just so completely Meh.. Its not awful, its just boring CGI for CGIs sake. Just like JC. Lets have some quality in the future please.

    Twilight proved any old piece of shit book could make money. It doesn't change the fact that it IS a POS book, POS movie franchise and is getting its arse handed to it on a plate buy better rivals.

    Good, the rest of us have had to endure the Twilight Saga. Easily the worst franchise in cinema history. Personally i couldnt care much less about THG, but the fact that its destroying Twilight, and is upsetting the inexplicably large number of delusional people who are considered its fans is awesome. I may even go to see it just for that reason.

    Bit disappointed by Titanic. Im hoping it increases a lot for the anniversary of the sinking. Still hope 100M is possible.

    I think we just need to accept that Baumer has HORRIBLE taste in movies. I mean really Twilight is THE worst franchise of all time, but i suppose it had little chance coming from one of the worst book series of all time..OK THG isn't the greatest movie ever, but its a decent movie, nothing about it is a remotely retarded as Twilight. Production values dont come in to it. Twilight could have cost $1B to make and used all the Oscars winning technical people there are, it would still have sucked. THG could have been made by 'The Asylum', as long as the script and story was the same it would still be a better movie.

    3D doesn't have to 'come at you'. It can be used subtly to increase depth of a scene. If you have a 3D TV and use the on the fly 3D conversion setting you dont get multi level 3D like you would with natively shot 3D, you get a deeper scene that seems more like looking through a window. Depending on the material its quite pleasant. Seems to work really well for natural history TV.

    Personally id rather see 3D re-releases of classic movies than 90% of the new rubbish thats released these days.

    This IS Titanic and a Cameron movie. It will probably hold $3M a day for 3 months!

    Large cheap HDTVs have to play a role in this as well. I have a 50 inch 3D Plasma in my bedroom now. Its blows the cinema to pieces for colour reproduction and black levels, as well as having better sound tuned to my preferences due to a surround sound set up. The cinemas only advantaged is the earliness of release compared to Blu-ray or download. As a result i will only go to the cinema for a few select movies now, or if im bored. Instead of maybe 12 to 15 movies a year as it was 10 years ago its now 3 to 5 movies.

    I saw SH yesterday. Its a fine film, great action, good lines, visually appealing but you know what? I cant really remember it. Its the same for the first one, which ive seen about 4 or 5 times. They just aren't memorable. I think thats the problem.

    ...and its certainly not 'better'. Its a horrible movie on every level in a way even Eclipse didnt manage.

    I expect A2 will have a love story, but the love stories in Titanic and A2 were all about a man giving all for a woman he only just met. Assuming A2 still has Jake and Neytiri in it that wont wash a second time.

    -76% IS pretty terrible, although for Twilight, its expected. Says a lot about the franchise. Still not going to get 300M

    True, it is a lovely world and will look even better in A2 but people loved the love story. Its the absolutely key to its success.

    I dont think people care that Pandora is a whole new world to explore. When i ask people why they love avatar is came down to the fact that it was very pretty and had a love story in it. If Avatar 2 goes too sci-fi, or too hardcore and loses the love story it wont do so well. Avatar was Titanic in space with a happier ending. If Avatar 2 is more Aliens or T2 it will drop like a stone, better film or not.

    Thats because if a Twilight movie was just the actors sitting in a chair making baby noises for 90 mins the Twihards would still love it. Its so unsophisticated and boring everyone who would bad mouth stays away.Very glad it went down. Shame the 138 million isnt 138 thousand, but cant have everything
