  1. Yeah but those viewing figures arent that big. Lifetime have had other original TV movies with much bigger viewing figures. It certainly wasn't a massive hit. It was decent thats all.
  2. I was annoyed Caprica was cancelled. It wasnt that great, but I wanted the full story. It also resulted in Blood and Chrome not really happening (its now just a web series). I really want to see more from that universe.Stargate Universe had more in it. It was improving in season 2 after the slow start.Terra Nova has promise, but it turned out to just be a soap. It had no depth, no challenge, and no one was especially likeable and most of the characters were clichés.
  3. Who though this had a chance to outgross TDKR worldwide a few months ago? Not me.
  4. So basically its going to take the UK record from Avatar this week sometime. Impressive!
  5. Im confuse by this. Who do you think is Adeles market? She is popular with all ages and im sure 90% of males going to this movie know who she is. Her market is not 14 year old girls at all.
  6. Looks like Skyfaaaall isnt crumbaaaallling after all! Very happy, it deserves it. PLEASE let it outgross Breaking Wind fart 2 PLEASE.
  7. Twilight has to be one of the most boring box office performers of all (both on and off screen!). It will have 30M midnights, 140ish weekend and run out of stream at 300 +/- 10M. The last few have all done that because they have a set market and thats that. Big numbers, but very very boring.
  8. BD2 might even help it. The teens go to BD2 while the parents, unable to handle the unendurable crap, go to see Skyfall. Most of the teens who wanted to see skyfall probably already have, the audience is likely to skew older in the coming weeks.
  9. Both multi-screen cinemas in Exeter were sold out all evening on Friday and Saturday, both Odeon and Vue were showing on more than one screen simultaneously in the 8 or 9pm slots. I went to the Odeon at 11.30pm and it was still pretty busy, the Vue 11.20 showing was also very busy.
  10. Saw this on Saturday. Its funny, gory but not gross, pretty well acted, stylish and the 3D is pretty good. The 3D is a bit gratuitous at times, in the slow-mo scenes, but they have a cause and purpose, they aren't just there to show off 3D for no reason! Unlike a lot of these such films there wasn't anything overly silly in it and i liked the story and cared about the characters.FAR better than the Stallone version and deserves a decent take. Not sure its been marketed well enough to get the gross it deserves..
  11. This is a messed up world, i cant really beleive this happened and my heart goes out to those involved. Whats worse in a way is that this might even HELP the gross. People have a morbid curiosity with these event.
  12. Return of the King, Titanic or TDK. Avatar is epic, but not the best. Haven't seen TS3. The rest are a bit lightweight really, even The Avengers, which while good, isnt a masterpiece or a classic in my view, its only getting that status because of its gross, not its quality.Alice is the worst, its really pretty poor.1 ROTK2 Titanic3 TDK4 DMC5 Avatar6 Avengers7 OST8 Phantom9 TF310 AliceNot seen the rest. Not interested in Harry Potter and never really like Toy Story that much.
  13. D and D should have been based on the TV cartoon, not the game, it would have been much better.
  14. I suppose, but most of his characters have been really annoying. I may have been a little harsh, maybe i should have said a successful career. Hes getting parts above his weight.
  15. Im watching JC right now. Its a struggle. Too many stupid names, boring 'action', weak acting and a fairly pointless story that makes little sense and gives me no reason to care. Im half way through and dont know who anyone is and why i should care about who they are.
  16. Its not even about being a draw. No one knows who TK is! At least Damon got some exposure from 'controversial' movies like Ripley. I disagree that the quality of the movie doesn't matter. If the movie flops but is good at least you get credibility and maybe another chance, but if it flops and is bad, like both JC and BS were, then you get no credibility.
  17. None of those were high profile mega flops and at least one or two were actually good.
  18. Absolutely. Im too far away from caring about it, but there are a lot who want to see it, but didnt want to stump up the cinema fee. Its probably curiosity as much as anything
  19. JC is now on the bay of pirates in BR quality. I cant even be bothered to pirate it. I feel the same about BS.
  20. I cant stand Garfield, never liked him in anything he's been in. I hated The Social Network because i hated all the actors (pretty much) and despise Facebook.I dont much like Spiderman either, never did.
  21. Critics watch too many movies and over analyze them. Most are simply jaded and are looking for faults. Having said that, if a movie is 85%+ on RT its probably good with little debate, if its less than 30% its almost certainly bad. The problem is when they are ~60-70%.
  22. The trouble with DS is that its the same film as the last 10 Burton/Depp/HBC movies. All are dark, strange looking, all the same characters all the same actors. None are especially bad, but they are just boring now. The last one i really liked was Sleepy Hollow.People are basically just saying 'oh look its THAT lot again'. I have the same problem with any Director who uses his favourites too much. I can see Nolan doing the same thing if he isn't careful as he has already recycled actors from Batman to Inception and back again, and Scorsese can be guilty as well..
