    Wow solid holds. Except for PA4. Finally had time to watch Taken 2. Not bad by definitely not as good as the first.

    Very nice holds. Wow at Argo down only -15%And Taken 2 pretty much is critic proof. It's dropping faster than Taken but will it beat Takens's gross? Only 40M to go.

    Cross at 11.7 seems ok to me. Frankly didn't see much advertising for it. And it wasn't billed as a "Tyler Perry" movie.

    That's true. First was a damn good movie. The rest were meh.. Also, going back to Baumers original question, I thought the Scream series did pretty well.

    Plus NBA season is starting up. But yeah it's the LCS and football that are bad for the box office. I haven't seen a movie on Sunday for a while. Drops seem to be around the same as last year, maybe a little higher, so it doesn't look like its much of a surprise.

    Yeah, I agree it's far from over. After the Division Series with The Reds, anything can happen. Lots of upbeat fans walking around. If it goes to Game 6 I'll probably try catch it at the park. :DBTW The Giants are my adapted hometown favorites. Still a bigger Yankees fan but I want this series so bad. But the way it looks, the Yanks have a much tougher road especially with Verlander coming up....But to stay on topic. Great holds. Especially for Taken 2. I guess moviegoers liked it better than the critics

    What a down weekend especially after the Division Series. Gonna finish my wine crack open a beer and watch The Avengers. I need a pick me up.

    BoooooooooWell they won. Damnit. I want one of my teams to make it to the WS. And if the Yanks don't turn it around...A Giants Yankees WS would be ratings gold for Fox IMO.

    Don't be too sure yet. Still a ways to go for 7 games. But it damn sucks that the Yankees are down 2 games and without Jeter! Damn that was a nightmare. And team can't hit for shit right now. And the Giants.. it's only one game and it's not over...yet. 6-3 . make that 6-4

    Love this thread! Needed a good laugh after watching the craptastic ALCS game. And the NLCS isn't looking good for the home team.

    Great mentality :)But you should also add an extra bit about costs just in case. Hehe I definitely think the people who've seen Dredd view it much more favorably than those who've seen JD.

    Great hold for Taken2. Nice surprise that it held on to first considering the reviews and all. I haven't had time to watch it but looking forward to finally seeing it tonight. Argo looks good as well but I will hold off until after the ALCS and NLCS of course

    At least most of those who watched it, loved it. Can't say the same of Judge Dredd. But I'm a fan of both movies for two very different reasons.

    Crawling along. Still hoping for 240. There's still a 30M WW difference between the two according to BOM. Can RE5 in China make up that much ground?

    True, but so many people keep on talking about it seeming to have a bigger impact this year than in previous years. Still though I think maybe some of the demand for Tuesday probably was burned off on Monday. So who knows... Hehe yeah it's been kind of hectic lately, but things should settle down until December. At least I hope so. Then another bunch of travelling.

    What about discount Tuesday? Seems like its having a bigger impact this year and should dampen some of the drops

    Yeah I think it depends on the school district. Overheard some teachers on the flight to la this weekend talking about having the day off. Expected drops otherwise.

    Think it's mostly because of Columbus Day. Many schools were out.

    I wonder how The Mistress did OS? Im guessing it played well in the bay area. At least amongst the Filipinos I know, many wanted to watch it.

    So 305-310WW? Not bad.Also Central/South America seems to have been good for EX2. Just glancing at EX1 versus EX2, Peru was almost 4x greater, Mexico 2x, Brazil looks like 2.6x. If it goes like this Chile could add an extra 1M. Don't see numbers for Columbia for EX1 so how do you think It's going there?
