  1. hmm... Solo - 3 + 3.5 + 3 + 2.5 = 12 for weekdays, essentially 4.0 times Monday #. Thursday previews should cut everything down -10%. for this particular week, I am finding 4.0 x Monday looking pretty close + or - 10% for all the movies. Except maybe Show Dogs. I thought that would go down -70%. Maybe it will course correct itself and dip down Tues + Weds and only get a 3.0 weekdays multiplier from Monday.
  2. next weekend predictions I have Oceans Eight finishing somewhere around 100M + OW. Jurassic World, Incredibles 2 at 130M OW each / 400 - 425 total Solo - 215M+ Deadpool - 315M+ Hereditary - 40-45 Avengers - 675 Adrift - 34 Life of the Party - 52 Overboard - 49 Action Point - 6 Upgrade - 14
  3. 6/8 - 6/10 (new) - Oceans Eight - 41.50 - 41.50 (-42%) - Solo: Star Wars - 17.00 - 177.50 (-41%) - Deadpool 2 - 13.70 - 278.20 (new) - Hereditary - 13.00 - 13.00 (-36%) - Avengers - 6.70 - 654.21 (-50%) - Adrift - 5.80 - 22.40 (new) - Hotel Artemis - 5.25 - 5.25 (-50%) - Book Club - 3.50 - 55.34 (-44%) - Upgrade - 2.60 - 9.45 (-54%) - Life of the Party - 1.60 - 49.51 (-54%) - Breaking In - 1.30 - 43.85 (-46%) - Action Point - 1.30 - 4.99 (-49%) - A Quiet Place - 0.90 - 185.25 (-54%) - Overboard - 0.90 - 47.28 (-54%) - Show Dogs - 0.70 - 16.17
  4. I think it is good to challenge yourself with what different people post on the internet, but I do think that ignoring people can be correct thing to do. Also, when the anticipated Transformers 2 opened, I think a lot of people walked away with a shrug.
  5. id bump it up 10% to 16.5 because of the Star Wars brand. I have Deadpool at 13*.7 right now. If Solo does 16 and Dead does 14, that's 30 million between action competition (2 and 3 slots) vs new openers.
  6. I wish I had 'snuck' into those IMDB forums and found a little niche where I could troll infinite trolls over the silliest films for years on end (or maybe troll too?). still have yet to venture to 4chan, reddit, img or Instagram or whatever those things are, etc. at this point, I just assume I'd just be looking into a black hole in the internet and with that extra time might as well just wander to the beach alone and roll around in the sand.
  7. Solo should probably do 11-11.5 weekdays. 11.25 + 148.99 ~~ 160.25 Deadpool 2 ~ 10M weekdays 10.00 + 254.51 ~~ 264.50 Adrift ~ 5M + 11.60 = 16.60 IW ~ 4.5 + 643.01 ~~ 647.5
  8. $5.65. It feels like back then people were still paying at least $7.50 at the evening shows, and $10 today. $5.65? wow.
  9. also with 1000+ theaters: $3.95M Miracle Season - 1,707 $3.94M Traffik - 1,046 $3.28 Tully - 1,356 $3.02 Every Day - 1,669 $2.69 God's Not Dead - 1,693 $1.16 Sgt. Stubby - 1,633
  10. did they take all the feelings and elements from this trailer and press it with marketing outside this trailer, or did the last ditch marketing never happen?
  11. Oceans - 43 Solo - 17 Deadpool - 14 Hereditary - 12 Infinity - 7 Adrift - 5.5 Hotel Artemis - 5.5 Book Club - 3.5 Upgrade - 2.6 Life of the Party - 1.6 Breaking In - 1.3 Action Point - 1.2
  12. Looks like it wont be the number one opener of all time, but it should be the number one movie of all time assuming Hereditary does not murder its legs.
  13. predictions are predictions, after you see the trailers, you don't know what the movies are about, what the script is, or how they will be received. production budgets, international expectations, etc. it seems if I was to go from forecasting to going on the inside to get the information, i would have to take my head out of my own ass and put it up someone elses
  14. assuming it does drop -1, therefore -200+, (new) 4,000 - Ocean's - 43.00 (-200) 4,181 - Solo - 17.00 - 178.17 (-500) 3,661 - Dead - 14.00 - 278.76 (new) 2,500 - Hereditary - 12.00 (-600) 2,970 - Infinity - 7.00 - 654.50 3,015 - Adrift - 5.50 - 22.02 (new) 2,000 - Hotel Artemis - 5.50 (-800) 2,369 - Book - 3.50 - 55.36 1,457 - Upgrade - 2.60 - 9.26 (-1000) 1,511 - Life of the Party - 1.60 - 51.44 (-700) 982 - Breaking In - 1.30 - 44.01 (-600) 628 - Overboard - 0.83 - 47.30 (-1500) 827 - Show Dogs - 0.55 - 15.93 (-150) 352 - Rampage - 0.35 - 95.72 (-100) 184 - Panther - 0.14 - 699.39 (-50) 137 - Wrinkle in Time - 0.10 - 98.11
  15. and when people see the movie and after its over, fans are created and non fans , especially with anticipated fan driven events you get the divisiveness appearing from media outlets and peoples expressing it by other means. Sci-fi stuff like mother!, Vanilla Sky, Under the Skin, Annihilation and Inception (last 5 seconds) also create fans and dislike to varying degrees per feature.
  16. revised estimates to look like this + weekdays = totals after Thursday 6/7 Solo: Star Wars - 29.30 / 148.89 + 12.28 = 161.17 Deadpool 2 - 23.33 / 254.65 + 10.11 = 264.76 Adrift - 11.55 / 11.55 +4.97 = 16.52 Infinity War - 10.37 / 642.87 +4.63 = 647.50 Book Club - 6.85 / 47.37 +4.49 = 51.86 Upgrade - 4.56 / 4.56 +2.10 = 6.66 Life of the Party - 3.50 / 46.34 +3.50 = 49.84 Breaking In - 2.82 / 41.35 +1.36 = 42.71 Action Point - 2.33 / 2.33 +1.17 = 3.50 Overboard - 2.02 / 45.57 +0.90 = 46.47 A Quiet Place - 1.78 / 183.53 +0.93 = 184.46 Show Dogs - 1.55 / 14.63 +0.75 = 15.38 Rampage - 0.60 / 95.09 +0.28 = 95.37 Black Panther - 0.25 / 699.13 +0.12 = 699.25 A Wrinkle in Time - 0.14 / 97.95 +0.06 = 98.01
  17. does anyone know if Star Wars is supposed to hold all 4,381 locations next week? The other Star Wars films do 3 weeks. I guess maybe you could tell if just one theater is dropping nearby. if there is an evidence of just one, then I can go ahead and assume (-200) for next week to get to 4,181 which is similar to the 4,161 of DP2 week 3
  18. lol, sometimes good franchise movies get made when the producers say fuck the fans
  19. Movie Math YouTube feels like the personality a math 200+ course in community college the way it is read and delivered with a particular kind of spunk and energy and the language. if you see enough of the professors, you will know. Turn a math professor into a full blown movie nerd and there you go. *you would get thousands of duplicates. easy. Yawnnnnn, movie math!
