I see 40 - 41 weekend for Annabelle. I ran through the #s and if Glass Castle performs like Ricky and the Flash, Florence Foster Jenkins and Hundred-Foot Journey relative to previews, we are looking at about 4.5-4.8 weekend. Not bad after all.... Could not find any decent comps for Nut Job 2.

I assume this 4-5.5 million range for Glass Castle via Deadline/Hollywood Reporter is based on initial forecasts and nothing else. THey do not even mention the .138 in previews.

I think the audience is going to love it too! Good reviews and good RT audience score. I would be anticipating a good cinemascore but after Ouija 2 who knows. Ouija 2 had better reviews and a good RT audience score. I saw it opening night and loved it and was expecting a high cinemascore. For reference: Conjuring - A- Conjuring 2 - A- Annabelle - B Insidious - B Insidious 2 - B+ Insidious 3 - B+ Ouija - C Ouija 2 - C ^^LOL common, really? Ouija 2 a 'C'. When feeling out so many comparisons and using logic, Ouija 2 should have at least been a C+/B- minimum! In that case, expect Annabelle 2 to get a B like the first one.

I think nothing opening over Labor Day weekend is really going to kill Annabelle and Nut Job's legs.

we should be careful with our Annabelle predictions. Despite the 4M in previews, WB has it projected at 25M, and with The Nut Job 2 opening in 4,000 theaters and The Glass Castle being oscar bait, the #1 slot should be up for grabs.

Glass Castle?

This series really packs the scares unlike any other horror movie or franchise since Paranormal Activity. This one was closer to Conjuring 1 and 2 than it was to the first Annabelle. I would give better than a middle to low B, but the characters always frustrate me in these movies. They never think or act logically.

I like how it was different from being generic because Halle Berry is in pursuit the entire time and the movie never slows down. It felt different and fresh despite being called Kidnap. Maybe I will have to check out Unstoppable now. (i meant Unforgettable, but I will settle for both)

I am sure your theater is making a huge mistake by not making Nut Job 2 all 3D showings. I assume the demand for that will be higher than usual.
