the box office prophets weekly recap article suggested a possible theater expansion for Megan Leavey next weekend, so I am hoping it can get to 3,500 theaters and match 47 Meters Below.
Sounds about right. Everyone says multiply production budget by 3 and anything in excess is profit. The Mummy has a production budget of 125, so 370 is better than 375. The Mummy should be profitable.
If 47 Meters does not open in 3,500 locations, and Baywatch does not loose almost half its theaters next week, Baywatch might make it to 60 million over the summer
I think It Comes At Night should hold well through the weekend due to strong reviews. I wonder if over time more people will like it when they go in expecting the worst movie of all time.
Ok, I have heard about the moans and groans when the Dark Universe logo comes up before the movie starts. Maybe in some cultures around the world this generates some sort of enthusiasm. I don't know. It is just an idea.
Maybe America is just to branded and consumer filled so alot of people are rejecting it, but around the world it is the opposite and the idea of a classic monsters universe feels fresh and exciting
