  1. LG probably going with the 160 estimate, just for headlines and watch the actuals be around 157-158. It still beats the November record easily.
  2. Slapping 3d onto any old film cheapens the use of it, plus audiences are not that dumb. They know THG franchise does not need 3d.
  3. Nice Saturday recovery. I think it hits 370 DOM when all is said and done.
  4. Italy and France are going to have a big increases, those fans were very excited. I think they did a better job promoting in Europe than any other market.
  5. What are the numbers for Best Man Holiday? I want to see if it has a shot at 100m.
  6. how about not putting him in anymore lead roles? It's not like this guy was ever a JIm Carrey or Ben Stiller. Makes no sense to me.
  7. Dreamworks is having a terrible time lately. Wasn't Fifth estate the worst opening of the year? They really should have opened Delivery man last weekend.
  8. Naw. It's probably going to follow DH1 numbers. Slight Saturday increase and then a regular drop Sunday. 67.5 44 29 140.5 (If OD numbers hold)
  9. You're totally right, and you were predicting a lower OW than most people here. I think 150m? It's in line with the rest of YA movies released in November. In fact it still has a chance to break the "november OW record"%
  10. really? Theyve had IMAX in the marketing pretty claerly. Jena Malone and Sam have been pretty up and front as the new characters. You havent been paying attention if you didnt know about that. 180-200m was never a realistic opening for this movie considering: Number 1-it wasnt in 3d number 2- its a sequel number 3-Its in November Lionsgate put on an excellent marketing campaign, IMO. Fangurls expecting 200m were delusional, plain and simple. Bye.
  11. Did the opening day numbers come in or am i missing something?
  12. i doubt it as well. But i dont think we'll see midnight records being broken anymore. Day records are up for grabs though.
  13. Midnight/Preview numbers dont tell the story of the opening weekend, they're mostly just for record books. Catching Fire didnt set a new record but that's still fantastic number.
  14. Looking like the 160-165m prediction is on target.
  15. Best Man Holiday sequel in the works http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=111548
  16. I think it pretty clearly indicates that Hollywood execs and these boxoffice predictors dont care about researching films for women, black or hispanic. Yes they do go to the movies and its not surprising. If anyone thinks only white fanboys are giving superhero films these big box office revenues then they're delusional.
