  1. Yup. Its being released the same day as Hobbit and Annie. There is surprisingly not much hype for it though, so i dont expect it to hit the 200m mark either. The last one did 177m.
  2. No, i dont see that happening. It could make 100m+ though. I'd replace Annie with Night at the Museum 3.
  3. Im sort of leaning that way as well. The audience that it's catering too seems like families + females under-25, half of which are going to check out Fault in Our Stars the following week. If Fault In Our Stars really catches on, that could could stop Maleficent from really growing.
  4. Frozen is having an amazing run for being such a mediocre film. Not much difference between it and Tangled. Perfect storm.
  5. Cute teaser. But i hope people arent expecting this to have a Frozen-like run, that film appealed to so many little girls and young women. Which was a major part of its success. This one, not so much.
  6. Those Blended numbers are pathetic, but its getting reviews on par with Grown Ups 2. So there may be some hope yet.
  7. I think he meant franchises. Universal has no franchises this year because they had to push back F7.
  8. No way Neighbors grosses more than Spider-man. Yall are going a bit crazy and i think are a bit biased. Million Ways to Die will cut of its legs and then 22JS will completely kill it. Im predicting about 140-150m and thats really reaching for me.
  9. I agree that they both have staying power but i dont know if much separates them at the boxoffice. Diaz most recent comedy, Bad Teacher ,grossed 216m WW. The Heat only earned a bit more with 229m WW.
  10. Is Cameron Diaz on Sandra Bullock levels? I cant think of any other actress over 40 who still has such a strong fanbase after all these years. She could potentially have a very good year with The Other Woman, Sex Tape and Annie.
  11. Yeah i think The Other Woman should still get a good opening. Its being catered to women over 25. Plus it has Nicki Minaj and Kate Upton which should widen appeal in other demographics. Divergent's target is women under 25 and mainly the teen crowd. predict 16m OW/60m DOM It should have decent legs going into May being the only female-centered comedy, I dont think Neighbors will hurt it too much.

  13. Disney spent all that money on marketing for Muppets Most Wanted and in the end, it wasnt worth it. The first one didnt even make 100m DOM. Peabody and Lego killed this one.
  14. pretty weak numbers. I thought we were getting into 40+m for both.
  15. Today the ladies candidates would be Amber Heard- she cant act and has not opened a box office hit. Yet is the face of Guess, invited to major events and her face on the cover of magazines. The only reason she is barely relevant is because she dates Johnny Depp. Her agent must be great b/c there is no rhyme or reason for her to keep co-starring in studio movies. No one cares. Shailene Woodley- She had a role in Spiderman, The Fault in Our Stars, Divergent, and other indie projects for industry cred. Hollywood is clearly trying to make her into the next Jennifer Lawrence/Kirsten Stewart, let's see if it works. Olivia Wilde-Has not been in a box office hit or hasn't ever been the reason for it. Yet i consistently see her name and face pop up in magazines, events and prestige projects. (Her and Rush to name a few.) Margot Robbie- After the Wolf of Wall Street she just booked a bunch of high profile projects.(Focus with Will Smith, Tarzan) Im sure more projects are coming. Hollywood is poised to try and make her a new star. Chloe Moretz- Hollywood is trying to make her a teen star but she has no real hits to speak of. Carrie was a blimp on the radar, Kick-ass 2 disappointed and Let Me In never registered. Any other films that shes done were supporting roles. Atleast Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff and Miley Cyrus had a Disney fanbase. "If I Stay" is gonna prove her worth, because any success that The Equalizer gets is solely b/c of Denzel Washington. In the past its been Jessica Beil and Jessica Alba, but both have fallen off the map. Rightly so. For the men, the list is verrrrrrrrrrrry long but i dont have the time or space to list them. But here are the main suspects. Ryan Reynolds- Hollywood is still trying it with this guy but the audience will never catch on. He's not good looking or charismatic enough. Chris Pine- Star Trek had success because of the name brand not him. Jack Ryan proves that no one is here for him, yet he still has projects lined up. Chris Hemsworth- the Marvel brand name is bigger than him. Hollywood will continue trying to cast him in lead projects but the audience wont care. Hes just not a good actor. Chris Evans- Another case of the Marvel brand name being bigger than the lead. I bet no one even knows who he is, not a household name at all. All three Chris's are interchangeable as far as im concerned. Chris Pratt- Hollywood is in the process of trying to make it happen for him. But it will be another case of Marvel brand being bigger than the actual star. Same with Jurassic World. Taylor Kistch- for a spell they were really trying it with him. I dont think so anymore but i was baffled when it was happening. Alex Pettyfer- they are still in the process of trying to make him happen but its never going to happen. Zac Efron he is not. Colin Farrell- I thought HW was done with him but apparently not. Winter's Tale and Total Recall prove that no one really cares. In the past it has been Orlando Bloom, Ryan Gosling and Josh Harnett.
  16. Supposedly, that is supposed to be a star vehicle for his daughter. So it may actually get made. But i agree with others that Smith is afraid to step outside his comfort zone. He has the money and power to get quality scripts thrown at him, but hes not interested. Although, i cant blame him for turning down Django Unchained, there werent much layers to the character that Jamie's played. Dicaprio, Waltz and Jackson got the better roles.
  17. He must have a good agent. Thats the only explanation.
  18. Im seeing lots of sell outs for About Last Night and Endless Love. Looks like the teen audience showed up.
  19. Another hit for Hart. About Last Night is Fandango's top choice for both men and women among Valentine's Day movies and has the best reviews.
  20. 1)Ride Along 2)Divergent 3)Exodus 4)Annie 5)The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 6)Gone Girl 7)22 Jump Street 8)Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 9)The Equalizer 10)Big Eyes
  21. 8m is just fine number, AM will still make over 100m. But fanboys will be dissappointed since hey have huge expectations of 200m+. I never thought that was going to happen, Ron Burgundy does have a large fanbase but its not that beloved; neither is Will Ferrell.
