  1. I hear some stuff like this from a lot of different topics. Sometimes it makes sense, sometimes it's silly. For example, discount Tuesday has been a big thing for a few years now but every year I hear, "Discount Tuesday wasn't a thing like it is this year." And, while yes, discount Tuesday has gradually gotten bigger, it's been pretty big for quite some time. Legs, id agree haven't really worsened from 2009. Maybe a little factoring in previews instead of midnights. Certain franchises have gotten more frontloaded as they've grown in fanbases, but overall I'd agree with you.
  2. Thats a yes and a no. Budgets can go over, the studio heads don't know how a film will turn out beforehand. When they greenlighted Tarzan, Pan hadn't bombed yet, and all of Snow White and Huntsman, Maleficent, Cinderella, Oz, etc.. Had been pretty big hits. They also had a safe director from two highly acclaimed Potter films at the helm. Sure, the movie didn't work out like they had initially planned, but that isn't going to always happen. I doubt the initial budget was so high, and I doubt they planned on the movie turning out like it did quality wise. By the time things weren't turning out how they planned it was likely too late and so they probably decided to eat the costs and go light on marketing. Studioheads can make stupid decisions, and then sometimes something can seem completely safe and it turns out wrong.
  3. So because I enjoy the entire series overall and find it quality, I'm dickriding because I have positive things to say about it? I've heard bits and pieces about it, and you can notice it partly in the episode if you're looking for it. I'm glad Cat got recast, because Fairley is great in the role.
  4. I would pay to see Anna Kendrick as Squirrel Girl. I can't say the same about another X-Men movie
  5. Cut Tele some slack. You know how you can get so old you're practically a child again (wearing diapers, eating soft food, finding fart jokes funny, etc)? Tele has reached that stage in his life.
  6. Not really. Even As and A+s didn't necessarily correlate to a good multiplier (same with grades that were Bs and below)
  7. Please stop acting like Cinemascore is an indicator for legs. I've literally scatter plotted hundreds of movies from the last few years and found no correlation of a high Cinemascore to a high multiplier. Cinemascore is a useless tool when talking about box office.
  8. However, if this will focus on online gaming, I hope they include World of Warcraft or an MMO spoof of it. You can't focus on online gaming without mentioning the king of it.
  9. Yeah, if this isn't going to deeply incorporate video games for the world then as Baumer would say fuck that pixel.
  10. Tarzan and Purge could make the top 15 for the summer if those numbers are right. Lol, that's a curveball right there.
  11. The Purge is a very consistent franchise. It and the Conjuring are major cash cows. Theyre the new Saw and Paranormal Activity.
  12. Thats a solid increase for Dory, and solid numbers for the rest. FD Fri: 15m Sat: 18m Sun: 15.3m Wknd: 48.3m (-34%) PURGE Fri: 15m Sat: 10.5m Sun: 7.3m Wknd: 32.8m Tarzan Fri: 12.3m Sat: 10.2m Sun: 8.2m Wknd: 30.5m THE BFG Fri: 8.5m Sat: 9.2m Sun: 8.7m Wknd: 26.4m
  13. Dont you dare talk trash about Feed the Birds being the expendable song. It's the best song in the musical.
  14. Just because I'm a Panda doesn't mean I'm from China. Gosh, people can be so predisposed to prejudice.
  15. Oh dear... Not this guy again... He's the worst documentary director working right now. And yet this will probably make decent box office. I gave his last two movies Z's if that says anything. I didn't watch any of his before that.
