Weekend Thread | Bourne 60M, Trek 24M, Bad Moms 23.4M, Pets 18.2M

I wouldn't go that far. It wasn't a bad movie, it was better than the other two PG-13 superhero flicks. It wasn't great though. -

Ill see when I see it, but Civil War is fairly low bar to beat. -

Star Trek Beyond (2016)
The Panda replied to Dementeleus's topic in Review That Movie! (Spoilers Allowed)
It was a fun and breezy Trek film, but nothing that put it over the top to be special. It was like watching a solid episode of the original series, but not necessarily a great one. I didn't have many problems with the film's besides a few logic leaps, some underdevelopment of the character arcs, and overall not contributing much, if anything, to the end-game the new series seems to be going for. Plus, the film started to feel tiresome after the sabotage piece. Theres nothing that really stands out, but the movie was all in good fun. It's nothing special that'll make it standout from other Trek's, but it isn't bad either. B -
I saw his last two movies because of my hard right family members telling me to watch it (both times) so I could 'see the light'. Both befuddled me and stumped me at how it was possible to make a movie so clearly one-sided and untruthful (America went as far as saying Hillary's role model worshipped... *gasp* Lucifer! Because of some comment this guy, who he presumed to be Hill's role model (I didn't fact check that part), mentioned the devil in a sentence this one time, despite actually being an atheist.) The guy is either crackpot conspiracy theorist on the level of the flat earthers who has no critical thinking skills beyond, "The Democrats are evilz!!!1!" Or the dude realizes the right wing audiences eat this stuff up, knowing full well everything he is saying is ridiculous manipulations and lies of history and truth. I'm leaning on the second option, these cheaply made conspiracy documentaries make him a rich little bastard.

Eh... Bourne was never all that huge to begin with, it's a solid franchise that has depended on quality entries to tell more of the story. Ultimatum was a nice conclusion, and this is just going further because there was room to. It'll likely do decent numbers, but it'll be lucky if it can even outdo Legacy. -
Yeah it would be 6.6m, double checked both ways.

I guarantee you, if it had been called "The Playmobil Movie" it would have bombed, hard. -

I'm very happy Kit Harington and Maisie Williams both managed to score their first emmy nods. 6 Acting nods for Game of Thrones (especially with nobody who qualifies for leads) is very impressive. 23 Nods overall. I'm only kind of irritated they snubbed Djawadi for Light of the Seven.

That really sucks. Working a job and having some of the perks of the job taken away is kind of horrible. -

Not only that, but LEGO is a very iconic brand. Even people who don't buy LEGOs know what LEGOs are. Plus they have a large video game franchise that is quite popular. Playmobil is a brand nobody pays attention to when they buy the toys for their kids, it also sounds much sillier than LEGO. The LEGO Movie, while a concept made fun of at first, had a very fun hook to it, and it had brand recognition. A GA hearing about the Playmobil movie will likely warrant a "WTF?" response, followed by them ignoring it. -

Even then, LEGO is popular, Playmobil is not. Playmobil is bombing (if they even go through with making it), sorry.
