  1. I'm trying to imagine a situation like this in reality and how it'd play out. A good (local) analogy would be a group of friends decide to start a Volunteer Night Watch group to help prevent crime in the area, but often work outside the law to do so (thus vigilantes in a way). They get pretty successful at this and save lives but one day their actions cause a civilian death because the civilian got caught in the crossfire/fight. In real life, they would be at the least shut down. Nobody in the neighborhood asked for help, and they aren't representative of the government that the people of the neighborhood elected to choose who was fit to help. Sure, you could argue that they were doing good, but in reality these people probably didn't have a big picture in mind and weren't trained or sanctioned by the people to help. The Avengers are like this on a bigger scale. There are too many problems, outside of taking out a few baddies in the short run, that come out of a group of random super-powered individuals deciding the law doesn't apply to them and they can go out and do what they want. It's all fun in comic book movies, but in order to have civilized society not turn into anarchy, the idealized version of superheroes that Cap represents could never actually take place in the real world.
  2. Older films definitely tend to move at slower paces, so if you're to used to modern day fast-paced blockbusters, I can see how they may be underwhelming. You also have to remember the technology from the time limited what could be done on screen, it was much harder to shoot a thrilling action sequence then than now.
  3. I will say, if things continue to trend the way they are we'll have a nice variety of films on the list. There's currently some modern blockbusters, some indie films, some classics/oldies, some animation, and so forth. Also the battle for the number 1 slot is fairly tight between 3 films currently.

  5. Yeah, this will beat Blade Runner 2. Nobody outside of film and sci-fi geeks care about Blade Runner (sadly).
  6. Yup, and you can post it here or DM it to me. People have done both.

  8. Tyrion's storyline today just seemed like a way to squeeze in more screen time for him because of how much they pay Dinklage. I know something will come out of it, but they really could have cut the waiting for Varys part and had more ToJ. That'd be my only real complaint about the episode.
  9. No, none of the films are going to be tied, I was saying most of the films are in a fairly tight race where just a few points will bump them up quite a bit.
  10. That was a solid character episode, even though it was fairly quiet I enjoyed it almost as much as the last one. The ending had the right hint of sadness and gravity to it, and the TOJ fight scene was lit. I reckon now
  11. When you get to a certain level of rich and what you're doing to get rich isn't making you happy, then you're better off not doing it.
  12. Well, itd be worth half the points given you need 51 or more for your list to be counted full, but if you picked the right film it could make a big difference for it. There are a few films within 5 points of the number 1 spot
  13. B and C are valid reasons. But I will say that every list I have scored has shaken up the master list in some way. Most films are only a few points away from neighboring ones.
  14. Mid year update 1.Finding Dory - 550m 2.Rogue One - 500m 3.Captain America: Civil War - 470m 4.Deadpool - 362m 5.Moana - 350m 6.Zootopia - 340m 7.The Jungle Book - 335m 8.Batman v Superman - 329m 9.Suicide Squad - 325m 10.Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - 310m 11.The Secret Life of Pets - 250m 12.X-Men: Apocalypse - 215m 13.Ghostbusters - 200m 14.Doctor Strange - 185m 15.The BFG - 180m Independence Day: Resurgence - 175m Star Trek Beyond - 170m Jason Bourne - 160m Sausage Party - 155m Assassin's Creed - 150m Kung Fu Panda 3 - 145m Central Intelligence - 140m The Conjuring 2 - 135m Sing - 132m Alice 2 - 130m TMNT 2 - 125m Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children - 121m Deepwater Horizon - 120m Warcraft - 115m The Magnificent Seven - 110m Pete's Dragon - 105m The Angry Birds Movie - 100m The Girl on the Train - 100m
  15. This should land right at 180m or so for the weekend. 500m seems unlikely now unless it has better legs than Cap 2
  16. I laughed at trailer and so did other audience members. It looks very dumb, it could be dumb fun but still incredibly nonsensical.
  17. Marvel has the most consistent money making franchise in history, I'm sure they're crying at this only making 180m right now.
  18. Chill out guys, a few positive reviews a few weeks out doesn't mean anything either way,
  19. Something to take into consideration, Marvel is going to end up with the #3, 4, 5, and 6 OWs of all time. That shows some pretty strong consistency right there and that's only a great thing for Marvel. It's one thing to have a mega-hit, it's another thing else to have a consistent franchise that releases 2 movies every year.
