  1. Universal has officially stolen all of Disney's thunder this year. At least until Star Wars comes out at the end of the year.
  2. Jurassic World has a great chance at winning the summer now, it just needs slightly better legs than AoU.
  3. Jurassic World is going to crush Man of Steel's opening weekend record in a day and a half.
  4. If Inside Out doesn't open in second then Pixar's streak will still break in November, I don't see how the Good Dinosaur could open higher than Mockingjay's second weekend. Even Frozen failed to do that and it opened huge.
  5. Every Universal tentpole this year has broken out much bigger than expected. Given their hotstreak I'll go ahead and say Ted 2 OW Over 70m Minions OW Over 100m Trainwreck OW Over 25m Straight Outta Compton OW Over 35m Everest OW Over 30m Crimson Peak OW Over 40m
  6. Could this June beat 2013's for the June record? Jurassic World is going to easily trump MoS, Ted 2 (especially with Universal's current hotstreak) could possibly equal White House Down and The Heat combined, Spy should hold strong, Inside Out should also play out well.
  7. While Pratt has only been in blockbusters since his career took off (so he hasn't been fully tested as an independent leading man), it's quite obvious audiences love him. They should pair him and JLaw in a rom-com and get an explosive hit.
  8. Dang it, Chas overcut my 135m prediction yesterday with 137m, there goes the bonus.
  9. I'd like to ask a favor. I'm going to be gone and unable to post from June 14th to June 26th, as well as July 6th through 10th (well I should be able to pop in late that day). I was just recently asked to leave for two weeks in June, and its a great opportunity but service is fairly limited in the area in going and I doubt I'm going to be able to post. And the July week I'm going on a camping trip in Colorado for vacation. Is it okay for me to ask to not have my individuals to fall on any of those days, as well to ask that any abstainable question that's deadline falls within those days I abstain from? Thank you.
  10. Can I switch from Ted 2 to Ant-Man. Due to recent events I am going to be gone and unable to post during Ted 2, Inside Out, and Minions weekends

  12. In my opinion this is what Godzilla should have been like. I mean, sure you can get into the technicalities of one dimensional characters, straight-foward/dumb plotting, and such, but who in their right mind actually came into Jurassic World for that. I know I didn't. I came into to see a fun, turn your brain off, joyride of dinosaurs terrorizing humans and other dinosaurs, and this movie delivered. No it's not on par with Jurassic Park, but you really shouldn't expect that, so I'm not going to even bother trying to compare it to such (even with all of the throwbacks). There were tons of crazy fun CGI action sequences that left me with a childish grin on my face throughout the whole movie (even at the unintentional hilarious moments, that for me aren't a detraction to the film because they add into the fun factor). It keeps the film short and sweet and doesn't overstay its welcome. It doesn't take itself to seriously (something most action blockbusters seem to do), but it doesn't treat itself like a joke either. The I-Rex delivers, as does the Mosasaurus. Is the film smart? No. Is the film vying for any serious Oscar consideration (besides maybe some VFX and sound awards)? Nope. Is it one hell of a good time? It sure is. Technical quality wise it's probably about a B, but I had so much popcorn eating fun with it that I am going to be very generous and give this film a solid A

  14. It was a great episode, there are just a few book readers who can't get it across their heads that the TV show is outpacing the books.
  15. People are complaining about the Stannis plot line but consideringn how much is being streamlined there's no saying that it won't happen in TWOW. Things are being streamlined so they are going to look different, my bet is Shireen suffers a similar fate in the next book. I'm really getting sick of book purists for everything. You have to make alterations to 1000 page a book bloated series of 7 books in order to make an 8 season TV show with 10 episodes a season that has to stay digestible to the public and not bore them by watching Brienne inn hop. They're different tellings of the same story. Are the changes going to be worth it in the end? We won't know until we see the final product of each series.

  17. Sand Andreas is playing much better than I expected, its in for a nasty drop next weekend though, lack of strong competition helped out.
