  1. 1.Boyhood 2.Godzilla 3.Guardians of the Galaxy 4.Neighbors 5.The Fault in Our Stars 6.Gone Girl 7.Transcendence 8.How to Train Your Dragon 2 9.Whiplash 10.Dawn of the Planet of the Apes I really want Boyhood to be the first number 1 non-tent pole movie on here.
  2. Iron Man 3 is a severely underrated movie.
  3. I'll take the first one. I'll bet 50 points (2 people each) that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is over The Amazing Spider-Man Domestic and World Wide
  4. No, Box Office Mojo says Grand Budapest is 5 and God's Not Dead is 4 http://boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/ ..... It may change for actuals, it's close, but still that's the listed numbers.
  5. Ooh Rosemary's Baby is great, I'll try and see if I can watch The Dirty Dozen sometime, I have just been overly busy.
  6. For people interested in order to not have to click through pages (if you are going to attempt to guess), here are the past 240 Btw, if less than 5 people guess than I will give each person a like for each movie they guess correctly and another like for each one in the right spot.
  7. It's true though. Captain America: The Winter Soldier was also better than The Dark Knight Rises. (Despite all of the plotholes and illogicies, Winter Soldier was still more believable)
  8. Exactly, given I actually liked Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World. My ratings for the phase 2 movies are Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 8/10 Iron Man 3 - 7.5/10 Thor: The Dark World - 6.5/10
  9. Just a little side note for those interested In my Top 250 list (linked in my signature) I offered a deal that the person who could get the closest to guessing my top 10 would get 20 random likes, the deal is still on if anyone is interested. (I have announced all the way up to number 11 now)
  10. Just to remind everyone, I offered a deal that the person who could guess my top 10 films the most correct would get 20 random likes on their posts from me, that deal is still up.
  11. 11 Lawrence of Arabia It's still a travesty that Peter O'Toole never ended up winning an Oscar, despite his many nominations, however Lawrence of Arabia is still one of the greatest and grandest movies out there. It has bold, sweeping shots that immerse you into the setting of the film. However, Lawrence of Arabia is not only epic but it is absolutely phenomenal in all of its aspects.
  12. Django Unchained, Life of Pi, and Silver Linings Playbook are the better movies, and I agree with Blankments much more entertaining. I loved ZDT but it can get boring after you watch it once, unlike the other three which stay brilliantly engaging.
  13. I bet two people Captain America: The Winter Soldier is number one for at least 3 weekends.50 points
  14. I think the major flaw for me with Cap 2 was some of the action scenes just got to over the top for the style they were going for, spectacle is nice but it needs to be constrained for full effect. The best parts were definitely the more personal sections, just like Iron Man 3. I wanted more of the political thriller aspects and less of the over the top action and concepts that broke the tone. Also on a box office note people say Iron Man 3 wasn't well liked by the GA but I have yet to see anything to prove otherwise, although I don't think it was necessarily loved.
  15. I still think people are under rating Cap's Saturday holds, it can hit 100m because even if it's the most adult of the marvel films, parents are still going to see Captain America and take their kids to it who are still going to eat it up.
  16. I loved it, my friend I was with didn't he said, "It was the same as all the other marvel movies in tone, and boring, to much action and computer generated stunts."I find it weird though that movies this particular person liked from last year were 47 Rhonin, RIPD, and Ender's Game. (Although to be fair his favorites were Captain Phillips and American Hustle).I personally really liked it and (beating a dead horse) would put it in my top 3 marvel movies. It kept me interested the entire way through, despite the fact the guy sitting next to me decided to commentate on the entire movie to nobody in particular. I love the atmosphere of a packed house, but sometimes I'm reminded of the drawbacks of it, it's why I like going with 4-5 friends so I can just sit in the middle and not worry about annoying people. (Selfish, but in easily distracted)Anyways, it'll probably end up with about an 8.5 from me, which is what I gave Catching Fire and Star Trek: Into Darkness. I would have liked it a bit more if they had made it a bit more grounded (it did get a little to over the top for me at times, despite the genre) in places, and a couple interesting characters seemed to be wasted and unnecessary. Not to mention with my friend complaining about the movie and the commentator man the experience wasn't all that enjoyable. What makes me wonder though is why people don't like movies with CGI if the CGI is done well? I think CGI is a great but dangerous tool, it's very easy to look fake if you overbloat it (the Amazing Spider-Man trailers) and can make a bad director lazy, but when used properly it's phenomenal and much better than practical effects.I want to see it again though (probably when the Blu ray comes out I'll see it), simply because I want to see it in a better environment.
  17. I went to go to the 9:50 showing and it was sol out, luckily the 10:20 showing still had 10% of the tickets left so I could see it.
  18. Marvel does a lot of its family business on Saturdays, if anything we'll have a more inflated Friday and a slightly deflated Saturday, even if Cap stays stagnant on Saturday (instead of increasing like most marvel films) it'll hit 100.
  19. Weird, I remember when I was in school if our bad weather make up days got used instead of taking days from the summer they simply applied for a waiver and wouldn't have to make up anymore.
  20. I'm only a marvel fanboy because WB can't make a good comic book movie unless Nolan is directing. However neither studio is stupid enough to actually open both movies on the same date.
  21. You are forgetting marvel does excellent Saturday business. Besides NCAA is popular but not devasting enough to overly hurt Cap, it's not like Super Bowl Sunday or anything.
  22. An over 100m opening in April means Captain 3 opening in may will be an absolute monster (especially after good WoM and the Avengers 2). Batman v Superman better be worried because Marvel has another massive franchise on their hands. I also think with a 100m opening 300m is in play.
