Wow, DRACULA UNTOLD has done well here.
Maybe its supernatural/mythological aspects helped? E.g., 47 ronin?
Anyway, I was expecting Interstellar to do at least 700K but the competition was too much I guess..

After some thought, my score for this has gone up to the 8-9 range from 7-8.

I liked it.
A moving story coupled with great visuals.
Of course, some of the dialogue is a bit...over the top and I'm sure if I think about it a lot, this kind of movie has a lot of plot holes.
But still, 4/5.

I definitely liked it.
The story is good, but with the superhero origin story some aspects may not feel so fresh to some. (I liked it however as it reminded of a Marvel-sequel origin story)
The emotional aspects of the plot though, were really good which made some for some near tearjerker moments in the film, like Tadashi's and Baymax's demises and Hiro's orders to terminate Callaghan. (Dark even for a Disney movie the main protagonist wants to kill the bad guy!)
Like Frozen/ a Marvel Studios film, it does spend some moment being self-aware if genre tropes. I liked that part.
Humor was great, and there was lots of it.
The other 4 members weren't developed a lot, but they were decent and at least they were good enough to be unique.
The villain though, is clearly a super villain, and not just a Disney villain. Army? Check (kinda ). Mask? Check. Macguffin? Check. Tragic backstory? Check. He'd fit in the Spider-man universe honestly!
Visuals were top-notch. Vibrant colors and kinetic movement (especially the opening robot fight and microdot sequences were stand outs IMO) dominated the film. Excellent job from the design team for this and brining to life San Fransokyo.
Cameos come from: a Stan Lee-esque character, Orca, and Black Talon (yup, 2 obscure Marvel villains appear as statues in Fred's room).
There is a post credits scene at the very end.
Overall, I think it was more of a case of style over substance as the movie's already-taken superhero origin feel brought down the film for me. But still, it's good and I'd definitely recommend to animation/superhero lovers.
7 or 8 / 10

I found it good, but not exactly great. A 7, for now.
For me, it was more of a case of style over substance.
And there's a post credits scene.

Off to watch this

Great action, and surprisingly, really good humor.
I was expecting the action angle but not the humor angle at all. Unexpected but very much welcome.
Loved the club scene and the home invasion sequences, those were well done.
As many have stated here, music was put to good use.
A bit slow in the start for me and some action sequences don't have enough...tension in them (IMO, only some) but overall, a good time.

Solid acting, but a bit too slow/long for me.
The character writing was pretty good but I wanted to see more Downey/Duvall back-and-forths would have nice.
Overall, a pretty good film that just needed something more.

Fury doesn't do anything groundbreaking within the genre but it does hit the right notes with what it's expected to do.
Solid acting and more of Shia (and his "stache) would have been appreciated.
The first act drags but I think the movie really does pick up once they enter the German town. The dinner scene was a standout, but two small moments which really struck me were
-When the young Nazi soldier catches Norm in his flashlight but doesn't point him out (Was it because he was a young soldier a well? That's my take on it).
-When the platoon looks up and sees the dogfight in the skies about to go down. It's a wonderful shot IMO, and kinda reminds us that in war, the "pure glory of battle" is in the dogfights but on the ground you find yourselves on the dirt, being witness to what man is willing to inflict on his fellow man.
Overall, a very solid film that could have been trimmed a bit.
4/5.

Unoffensively decent. Good action scenes and Luke Evans partially make up for a barely passable script.
The multiple vampires near the end were pretty cool too.

I can't believe Left Behind grossed higher than Gone Girl with fewer theaters...

REALLY liking the color scheme dynamics of the team.

Oh my god this is like Taken but for dog lovers.

Enjoyable for the most part and definitely better-directed thrills and action than a number of wannabe YA franchise starters.
4/5.

Instant must watch for me.

IAR: "So Judy, what are the plans for your character in Untitled Planet of the Apes 3?"
Judy Greer: "Well, I can't say much, but Untitled Planet of the Apes 3 is going to be a massive, wonderful character spectacle."
IAR: "Anything else you'd like to add about Untitled Planet of the Apes 3?"
Judy Greer: "We need a goddamn title."

Damn, I was expecting this to be at least better than the first from what I had read, but not THIS level of good IMO.This one really steps up from the first one as it tackles the the concept of the Purge itself, has more likeable characters, and lots of great rebellious/anarchic imagery in this one (like the "God" mask).Lots of little violent set-pieces, that was much appreciated. 4/5

Just because I like caramel and not chocolate doesn't make chocolate a worse flavor, or a bad flavor at all.Subjectivity and personal preference, while valuable, is not the be all and end all when it comes to these kinds of things.

PHILIPPINES BOX OFFICE thread | INSIDE OUT II breaks records. Only the last two AVENGERS movies opened bigger on opening day. But can it beat FROZEN II's total?
