Agreed. Now i don't expect it to come close to the first one money wise but that's okay. It'll still make a boatload of cash. Avatar sequels never will be "in trouble". They are going to be huge.

I've heard similar phrases in regards to IMAX, that "the picture is so vivid that it appears 3D". At the end of the day, it's a flat image.

Sorry but that sounds like marketing speak. 2D remains 2D, no matter what you do, it's never going to come close to actual 3D, because there's no depth information for your brain. As for brighter, i'm pretty sure that's more due to the laser projection. Jackson tweaked the color grading to make it look more filmic, whatever that means. That didn't sway people that find the smoother movement unnatural (ironic, since it's rather more natural) - that's the main problem for them. And that won't change, whether PJ or Cameron is behind the camera, it's inherent in HFR.

As did 48fps / 60fps when Cameron demoed it. Yet in the Hobbit many apparently didn't like it. It's like "wow, looks cool but i don't want it in my movies". You hit diminishing returns with 120fps. I doubt the difference between it and 60fps is easy to spot and i doubt even more that people that don't like 60fps or 48fps will like 120fps. It's simple, people like the stuttering, they associate it with cinematic. It's all they ever knew. Only long exposure to new, modern technics will slowly change that, if not this generation, then next, when young, more open people, become adults themselves.

I was talking about the script for Trek 3 and my point was that it wasn't Orci that mainly wrote it. -

They talk about the Orci script but wasn't there two other guys that mainly wrote the script? I think it's how it was... -

Prometheus was Lindelof. I kinda agree but i feel there's a lot of that in the TV shows as well. Quality is very subjective. But the fact of the matter is at least the first Trek seemed to have been loved by everyone and their mothers. I dunno if saying Trek was good despite Orci is entirely fair. -

Should he be given the benefit of the doubt? That maybe he is not a horrible person? The answer is yes. -

Well, the internet is a cesspool of hate and evil. That comment was taken out of context. Who knows how much shit he got from that user. But when a celebrity dares to say something back he/she is like the worst person on the planet. Like i said, he shouldn't have replied, best to say nothing if something gets to you, best to stay away from the internet for one's sanity.
