47 Ronin and CF was going to be close. Opening above CF was the best it could do anyway. Cause above them is Mitty.
I guess all movies except DoS did less than a movie in it's 6th weekend
Really did not see WoWS debuting at #5 below 2nd weekend of Anchorman and 3rd of Hustle.
Also Mitty's OW below Banks is disappointing.
Btw, talking about CF, it's less than 30 away from 420.
Needs 28.9 more after a 10.2 weekend. That got to be a lock.

Surprised that Wolf couldn't crack top 3 in it's OW and Mitty couldn't crack top 5. Talk about Saving Mr. Mitty.
Cryptic Nikki is cryptic

This is when I lose the will to live in the holiday box office cycle by nightly repeating the same Top 10 with small adjustments.

What does "small adjustments" mean? same position, different numbers? similar numbers, swapping positions? alas, we'll never know...Unless..

Lego Movie could be smart and innovative. Though don't think if I can sit through 90-100 minutes of stop-motion lego. Stop-motion movies haven't opened well. Chicken Run's 17.5 million was when animation was new and it's stop-motion was very smooth because clay is malleable. That 17.5 opening is still the biggest ever for stop-motion.
Marketing to kids is always lucrative. But at some point an adult will say fuc no.
Agree with the winter theme/snowman getting them a lot of business. Though was it just some ok/good movie, it would fall of the radar after the theme lost relevance. However, being a superior product it's going to have a good deal of repeat business, no matter how it first got folks in.
