  1. The detail put in this movie is truly amazing. Also, the behind the scenes and the amount of cuts for this movie is ridiculous. I only saw the Final Cut but I did see the other ending with the voiceover and I think the no-voiceover one works much better. The film itself looks really beautiful, the score is outstanding and Harrison Ford probably gives his best performance. 9/10
  2. Extremely ridiculous plot but a very fun movie. The dynamic between de Niro and Grodin is fantastic. 8/10 The litmus configuration scene is a classic
  3. You liked it, I didn't. It's okay, we don't need Nic Cage to save the world.
  4. I really wanted this to be good, but it ended up looking like two hours of predictable network television. Even though the worst part is probably the cheesy script (not in a fun way), the thing that bothered me most was the choppy editing which didn't allow the movie to develop a certain tone. It was really inconsistent all the way through as the director is seemingly a fan of cutting away in crucial moments and clearly doesn't have a good grip on mood and tension. The acting is okay but I didn't care about the characters and the point of the movie is so obvious and if you want to have such a message you should give me something entertaining or at the very least not bad to keep me interested. The only good things are a couple of surprises and Evans' acting in one scene. 4/10 Such a shame.

  6. "I think I'll have two chicken" - The Hound Great premiere. The last fight might have been the most brutal so far. I was really shocked how graphic the last two deaths were, and then the epic Arya smile to top it off. I like the new Daario, the badass wildling, and Oberyn looks awesome. Also, Alliser Thorne and Janos Slynt are officially the most scumbag pairing of any characters so far in the show. Or ever.
  7. Haven't had the time to rewatch the series this year gonna have to do with season 3 finale tomorrow. For the night is dark and full of terrors!
  8. I can't believe that this existed before the superhero craze. Genuine props to Shyamalan for creating this. I mean, I haven't seen any of his other movies (yeah, not even Sixth Sense) and I don't know if and why they're terrible or whatever, but this has some showings of a true genius. Sure it has some problems like the too heavy dialogue or a bit overly serious tone, but the acting, pacing and the story are truly exceptional. I really admired how calculated it seemed. It looked like it was crafted with care and devotion and that no detail was left to chance. The framing of some shots was done perfectly, the long takes were great and the score by James Newton Howard fitted very nicely. Also, mirrors 9/10 The problems with the dialogue prevent it from being perfect (it wouldn't have hurt to be a bit more lighthearted)
  9. I'm not a G.I. Joe fan but it was extremely funny. Though I have to admit, although I am a fan of the big concept episodes and I'm yet to be disappointed by any of them, I'm a bit worried that they are doing too many of them (Harmon even admitted D&D was a mess while making it) and neglecting the smaller episodes. My favorite from this season is still ep.2, have already seen it 3 times and it gets funnier every time. I only hope that if they do get a sixth season they scale it down a bit.

  11. Yeah, I guess I was tired so I kinda lost track for a moment (it happens to me a lot lately in the theater, for example Thor 2, Iron Man 3, Man of Steel. I guess I just like to watch it at home). They didn't execute it that well though...The post credit scene really got me excited for The Winter Soldier, Stan played it perfectly.
  12. Love Key & Peele but REALLY? Didn't that franchise suck out everything it could and then made 4 more movies?
  13. First of all, the best phase 2 movie by far. (spoilers below obv) I knew this was going to be good when I saw that the Russo bros are directing. Anyone who saw 'A Fistful of Paintballs' episode of Community knew they had it in them and it shows because the action in this movie is absolutely fantastic. Great choreography and use of practical effects all round. However, the biggest asset of the film is how it feels so grounded and so small at times amid the insane destruction. The character of Captain America is one of the most fascinating characters I have ever seen on the big screen and it is surprising that, after all this time, I am still shocked and amazed by the things he does. The Winter Soldier brings this out very nicely and I can't wait to see more of their interaction in the future as the final 'battle' between them was so perfect and emotional that I almost cried. Pity there wasn't more of him (the movie is called The Winter Soldier, one would expect him to be in it a bit more) The cast is so spot on that I shouldn't even have to mention them. I will, however, single out Robert Redford as a newcomer who owns every scene he is in. He literally just has to stand there to look like a boss and it is showcased best in his interactions with the World Government where it is just obvious how inferior they are to him. Too bad he died because I would have loved to see more of the character. Evans, ScarJo, Sam Jackson and Stan also give great performances. Regarding the plot and the pacing, everything is pretty much perfect in the first 2/3 of the movie, we get a good setup, two great action sequences and some unexpected moments. I really liked how they turned the tables on SHIELD/HYDRA front and how they practically 'rebooted' the organisation. However, in the final act we get a predictable, over-elaborate and too convoluted action sequence (those seem standard nowadays). Maybe it gets better on the second viewing, but it felt somewhat tiring and some of the plot points were hard to follow (like what exactly did Cap have to do on the carrier and why). Also, the Falcon/Grillo fight was kinda shoehorned in there. It was saved in the end by The Winter Soldier himself, it was really interesting seeing him losing it and later saving Cap. I can't wait to see what will they do with him next. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the movie and couldn't find many flaws (maybe even none when I see it again) 9/10 #4 in the MCU behind TA, IM and CA:TFA.
  14. A trailer with httyd2 would be perfect. It would follow their usual pattern and the two movies can't be more compatible.
  15. Not an awful finale but not a particularly good one either. Felt really rushed in the end, they didn't do a very good job of revealing the mother's death as I was expecting it would hit me hard but I felt almost nothing at all. Anyway, I think the biggest problem was the structure of the whole season. The show spent the season at a wedding that didn't matter at all in the end and it showed us too little of the mother (who was awesome and obviously perfect for Ted). I think if they really had a boner for Ted ending up with Robin, they should have shown us a bit more how Ted and the mother got along. Maybe have the Barney-Robin wedding as the mid-season finale and then concentrate on developing the mother so her death has a bigger impact. In the end, they did all that in only one episode and it mostly fell flat. Yeah, it's easy to be this guy now: but it's pretty obvious they screwed something up and they have been screwing it up for some time. They dug out too many holes for themselves and then left too little time to cover it all. They should have just ended it with: "And kids, that's how I met your mother."
  16. 1, Monsters Inc. 2. Toy Story 3 3. How to Train Your Dragon 4. Ratatouille 5. Wall-E 6. The Lion King 7. Toy Story 2 8. Up 9. Rango 10. Toy Story Other 10/10s: Finding Nemo, Frozen, The Incredibles (Tangled and A Bug's Life very close) Yeah, I should really see more classic Disney...
  17. I was buying beer for my grandpa when I was 10. Ahh, civilized world, thou art a bitch.
  18. Excited? Nope. Relieved that it's finally ending? Yup.
