  1. Lust, Caution is interesting. It's very well made, but at times Ang Lee tends to play things a bit too reserved, which holds back the film, I think. (Hulk had a similar problem.)
  2. My desire to see things somewhat exceeds my ability to actually watch them. The queue accumulates.
  3. I'm watching Lust, Caution. I figure it's about time, since it's been sitting in my Netflix queue for a couple years.
  4. It looks like I have one good prediction, and that's Godzilla at 195. Everything else is crap so far.
  5. I'm playing a game for work because I need to learn it. Unfortunately, it isn't very good.
  6. I just woke up and y'all are already in posting overdrive. Did anything important get said over the past thirty pages?
  7. Madagascar 2 was better than Free Birds. It was worse than Madagascar 3, though. I really dig the main motif in the score though. It sounds vaguely familiar, like another movie had a similar motif.
  8. From (Wednesday) and {last Thursday} HTTYD2 3.1 (-12%) {-34%} 22J 2.9 (-17%) {-47%} Malef 1.7 (-12%) {-30%} TLAM2 1.7 (-09%)
  9. Well, okay then. Free Birds is probably completely forgettable. Almost nothing in it that hasn't been done better elsewhere. Not offensively bad, though. It's just sorta there.
  10. So, this movie is both really anachronistic, even beyond the time travel elements. It's also dated in its humor. And really derivative.
  11. Okay, I'm going to skip the several pages of Free Birds liveblog. But since it seems to be the thing to do tonight, I'll give it a watchthrough myself. I've seen plenty of bad animation. I can do this.

  13. They probably wouldn't want to, in most cases. Why bother with the added hassle when they can let others run the risk of failure while the studios still collect the profit. It's kinda like big agriculture. Companies like Monsanto own basically everything in the supply chain, from seed patents on up. The only thing they don't do is the actual farming, letting individual farmers and such run the risk of crop failure and have to deal with things like the weather. From a company perspective, that's a risk they don't need to take.
  14. You should. It's fantastic comedy. Eartha Kitt, man. She's absolutely amazing.
