  1. In an objective sense, it wasn't especially popular anywhere. That's part of the reason it was canceled. But the fanbase is very dedicated.
  2. Does Frozen have a chance of topping DM2 down there or is that too much of a gap?
  3. The Raven - Technically impressive but the plot gets a bit tiresome after a while.Fifty Pills - Pretty fun overall, but it never quite gets to its full potential as a comedy of errors. The Core - Perhaps one of the most misunderstood films of all time. As a disaster epic with bad science, it’s pretty terrible, but take it as an update of a classic Science Adventure, it’s great.
  4. Ride Along continues to post impressive numbers. Almost 200k over the estimate? Wow.
  5. I wonder if Frozen can earn another 170.9M from OS territories. If it can do that, it'll be the highest grossing animated film OS ever. (Beating out Ice Age 4.)
  6. I think Mojo's doing something wonky with the adjusted numbers. Didn't someone point out they've started adjusting to quarterly ticket prices, rather than annual. It'll probably even out and be more correct over time, but we're too close to the actual release of both films for it to matter. (Plus, Frozen gets knocked for crossing over the new year.)
  7. Also I'm planning to see the movination of Legos in a couple hours. I wonder if I can drag any friends along.
  8. Traffic - I can see why Soderbergh got best director. It's good, even though it gets a bit into preachy documentary at times. (I can't help but compare it to Syriana, which is considerably worse only because Gaghan is a worse director.)
  9. It's possible SK and the US alone will get it to 1b, so even China to go is extra on top. Topping TS3 doesn't look too crazy.
  10. I like your thinking but, no, that's not going to happen.
  11. So possibly 200m combined between SK, China, and Japan?
  12. Yes it is. It's realistic and near future, but it's still very much science fiction.
  13. Nice! So we've gone from "it'll do 30" to "it's going to bomb and do 10" to "it's going to get at least 20". Bit of a roller coaster.
  14. Ouch at that VA number. And good number for Lego, although I'm still feeling a bit conservative for the IM, due to schools being out today in various places. 60 seems possible, but I'd not be surprised if it comes in a bit under that.
  15. Not all schools are out, but some are, due to weather. That leads to a larger than expected gross for family movies.
  16. Possibly. If schools are out today, that's going to inflate Friday's figure and could lead to a lower IM.
  17. And here's Yo, Frankenstein: 11 I, Frankenstein $270,517 -7% 2,753 0 $98 $16,007,293 2 Lionsgate Finally, after two weeks, it's basically at the point I'd thought it could pull opening weekend. I can't wait for it to show up on Netflix next year so I can finally see it.

  19. The moment we've been waiting for: 1 The Nut Job $325,688 -13% 3,472 0 $94 $51,272,664 3 Open Road
  20. The Island - Never lets itself actually delve into the philosophical issues it presents, yet still manages to be excessively bloated. Still, it's quite entertaining, and probably stands as one of Bay's stronger films. It's notable that it has the excessively shaky and confusing action style that he seemed to finally move away from in Transformers 2.
  21. I probably should have put together a list. Dunno who I'd have put at #1, though. Kurosawa's pretty good, I guess. Maybe him.
