  1. Frozen is down 10% week-to-week. Among holdovers only August: Osage County is beating it. There's no reason to think Frozen will buck its previous behavior at this point: Friday's going to see a jump close to 200%. Saturday will see a jump larger than 100%. And Sunday, even giving it a larger drop, will lose about 35%. So, what's Thursday going to be? 650k? oS a 1.95 Friday, at least a 3.9 Sat, and a 2.5 Sun. That's 8.35 million: a 29% drop. And that's probably being pessimistic. Friday above 2 million won't be a shock. Saturday above 4 million is possible. Sunday above 3 million could happen, too.
  2. Tangled dropped 22% in the post-MLK frame. Frozen's been holding better than Tangled.
  3. 1. How to Train Your Dragon 2 2. Veronica Mars 3. The Raid: Berandal 4. Big Hero 6 5. The Lego Movie 6. The Boxtrolls 7. Captain America 2 8. Insterstellar 9. Transcendence 10. Jupiter Rising
  4. That came to about $41M, right? Is the exchange rate worse, now, if 6M admissions only looks to be about $43M? (I suppose it's a better exchange rate, depending on your perspective.)
  5. About how much would 6M admissions be, then?
  6. Details: http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disney-frozen-sing-along-68692/
  7. The singalong expansion that we're getting in the US could have an effect, here. Before it, most were looking at about 50 million more stateside, but it could add enough to push the film past 400. Beating DM2 wouldn't require it to hit 600 OS, in such a case. I wonder if the singalong is going to show up in any other countries/languages.
  8. Today's movies: The American - Kinda boring. Tears of the Sun - Not bad, but a little slow.
  9. I suppose something had to replace Believe.
  10. So, perhaps the remaining earnings: US - 50 Korea - 30 Other Markets - 40 Japan - 50 China - 20 Sweden - 10 200 total, which would put it at 960 or so. 1B would require it to break out huge in Japan or China to overperform, probably?
  11. So if China is a potential disappointment (Is 20M too high?) could Korea's breakout make up for that?
  12. Don't go out of your way for it. Though it is a little impressive how narrow in scope they play it.
  13. There's several. I see the bulk of my movies at the three closest, which are in easy walking distance. AMC Pacific Place 11 Regal Meridian 16 The interesting thing is that these two are two blocks apart and they never compete on films. A new release will show up at one or the other, but not both. I prefer the AMC slightly, especially since they do super cheap pre-noon matinees. Cinerama Huge screen, great tech. Probably my favorite place to see a movie. they also have chocolate popcorn, which is the only snack I ever get at movies. There's a couple other theaters close by I've never been to. One is called a Movie Lounge, so I think it's one of those dinner and a show dealies. Somewhat further away is a real IMAX screen, which I try to go to for anything that actually uses IMAX footage. The Cinerama tends to look better otherwise, though, and is cheaper. And extending out from there are a couple that tend to do indie cinema and film festival stuff.
  14. Stargate. Earlier I watched MiB and Small Soldiers. I kinda wonder if the people who watch Ancient Aliens think Stargate is a documentary.
  15. They could just about replace It's a Small World with it at all the parks. I'd really like to get copies of all the foreign languages for my music library. Pity they aren't for sale AFAICT.
  16. Right. It was gripping because the question was "HOW is she going to survive?" not If.
