  1. Yeah, I meant WW. The goal is TE1 WW first and foremost. Once it has done that, and I think it will, although the US and UK are below, then $300m is the next one. If it gets to that, then we are definitely seeing TE3. However, my personal prediction is that it can go higher than $300m and become Sly's highest grossing movie ever with about $320m.This weekend is crucial. It's opening in Germany, Brazil, Australia, Hungary and the 2nd weekends in Spain and France. Then on Tuesday it is opening in China. The next 7 days is busy.
  2. It's goal is TE1. If it achieves that, then the goal is $300m.
  3. Hey BCN, any actual admissions for TE2's opening weekend?
  4. But those are superficial milestones. Like you said, China has changed now, so by expecting it to break records that other films in the same universe also broke is unrealistic.
  5. The 1995 Judge Dredd made £7.3m. This new Dredd, with being an 18 too, will definitely not beat that.
  6. Yes, it should help it to make some big money. Has some of it been filmed in China? What's the deal in making it a co-production?
  7. Wow, you guys were expecting so much. From where I am sitting, those TASM and TDKR numbers are just fine. An opening week of $35m in a country that is not the USA....is fantastic. Regardless of what other films have made, Spider-Man and Batman have never generated huge numbers before, so these numbers, for those particular franchises, are huge.
  8. Films released in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s are not on that link you gave me. Just new ones. Plus that's not a very good way of doing it because it doesn't take into consideration the matinee and child prices. Plus, that link you gave me shows only the top 20. Easy grosses like that can be found anywhere. But I appreciate your help. There are data for admissions in the UK. Just need to find it.
  9. Sorry Olive, but that doesn't show any admissions figures. That is just one of BFIs statistical yearbooks. I am looking for a list of admissions figures for movies released in the UK, not just in 2011, but for as far back as possible.Whereabouts in South-west China do you live? I am in Shenzhen..
  10. China has recently made its co-production regulation stronger. If a movie is to gain co-production status, and get a Chinese release date without doubt, then it has to be seen to have solid contributions from China, and not some token gesture of a Chinese actress in a supporting role. It has to have siginificant amount of the film filmed in China, have Chinese stars headlining or have significant investment from Chinese production companies. This is a great way for more US movies to get released in China without having to go through the screening process and possibly get refused.
  11. It's the 4th Sept. And I see no buzz here at all. Pretty much the same as the first one...so expect a good opening, even if it is opening against Prometheus. I see $40m in China, at least.
  12. Hello pinocchio, it's me Algren from Box Office Mojo. This link appears to be dead. Do you have another source of admissions figures for movies in the UK? Thanks
