Ice Age Continental Drift did significantly better than Frozen in South America (near 180M$!), China, Germany and Russia. Frozen triumphs in United Kingdom, South Korea and Japan. (in North America Frozen more than double of Ice Age)
-
But only 75M$ outside of USA and UK (Mr Peabody 105M$, Frozen 610M$). Many of non english-original language people tells that it loses much of its meaning with dubbing.

Top animated Overseas: 1 - Ice Age Continental Drift 715,9M$ 2 - Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaur 690,1M$ 3 - Frozen 674,0M$ It needs another 42M$ to reach N.1 Animated and top ten all-time

JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW
edroger3 replied to Corpse's topic in International Box Office
Today Screendaily.com report that Frozen OS stays at 661,1M$ with an increase from last sunday +9,1M$. Considering it as mon-tue-wed OS gross and done for 99% in Japan, it's more similar to my estimates 8,75M$. Also my statistical tool predict Toho admissions 47000 for fri,75000 for sat, 70000 for sun, with a 3-week total gross of 52,5M$. We'll see if it had worked well.- 23,666 replies

JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW
edroger3 replied to Corpse's topic in International Box Office
I only know the official grosses for cumulated mon/fri and cumulated sat/sun. So daily grosses is based on 5-days and 2-days average. I'll post the new version updated with actuals for 2nd week. In post #3091 there are my predictions for 3rd week based on statistics.I think that tomorrow Disney say something because surely 'Toy Story 3' will be under- 23,666 replies

If data reported here are true, we have for the first 10 days: Toho multiplier vs total admissions 5,015 - Average ticket price $12,223 So, data (estimates) now should be: total admissions 3.161.689 - total gross $38.642.123- 23,666 replies

I agree, but from the graphical point of view, the similarity is remarkable.

Someone says that Elsa&Anna characters are inspired (ripped off) by 80's anime Saint Seiya sisters Freya and Polaris Hilda (older sister have the same powers of Elsa). Is this the reason why Frozen is doing so well in Japan?
