Tuesday should be the biggest of the lot but not all movies will benefit equally obviously. Wednesday is Ladies' Day so that should be good as well. Tomorrow will probably be similar to today, perhaps slightly weaker.
Also, I'm surprised how weak sunday evening business has been given that tomorrow is a holiday. I thought it would behave more like a saturday in that regard.

Ah, yes, good point. That must be why saturday was down for all movies. However despite it being a holiday Cinderella will be the only big movie to be up on sunday compared to last week.

Kind of disappointing that none of the movies will stay flat or increase...Hopefully it's because people will be going in high numbers during the next 3 days.

He'll probably provide weekend estimates. Looks like none of the movies will see an increase though. Definitely no Frozen this year.

How much could it be off w.out west coast starting?
West coast is about 15% of the DOM market. If it performs 10% better than the rest of the market then we could have a 1.5% overall increase and that's about 1.3 million for a 85M projection, 1.35 million for a 90M projection.

First saturday sales are looking like it will be a close battle for #1 between Cinderella and Conan this week-end. The fact that monday is off means sunday evening and night business will be busy which could help Cinderella a bit.

Oh lord franchise wars.
Harry Potter while still chugging along is no where near as huge as it was at the height of it's popularity. It will get a resurgence eventually but trying to argue that it has more American cultural relevance then Marvel which has last about 50 years or so not counting their time as Atlas/Timely Comics is just silly. Maybe in 50-60 years Potter will surpass Marvel but at this point, I really don't see how this statement can be made. Also have no idea the state of both worldwide so if someone from Europe like James says Potter's more popular there I'll easily believe him.It is. Easily.
I don't know about Asia in general but in Japan there's no competition either, Potter wins hands down.

I was 14 when DH2 was released. The characters in HP were adults to me.

I watched the first two Potter movies in cinemas and then stopped going. I usually bought the books when they came out but by the time the fifth one came out I got tired. I think I only learned about HP's ending in like 2012.
I was a strange kid/teen.

The Avengers have been around since the 1960's. Marvel has been around since the late 1930's. It already has the longer legacy.
In the US maybe. As an overseas person I didn't even know about The Avengers before 2012.
