  3. Updated Jeight - Suspended for one month for reaching 10 warning points and consistently trolling DC fans
  4. Moderation Well, guess I now have to give my warning. We are not doing this whole "GRR CRITICS BAD" "Well, critics said it was good in one movie , but said it was bad in here. HYPOCRITES HYPOCRITES HYPOCRITES" "CRITICS ARE OUT TO GET DC" It's all hyperbolic nonsense. One movie can execute something and make it entertaining and fun, while another one can do it poorly. And there's plenty of evidence of DC movies being well-regarded critically. There's no conspiracy out to get the movies you like, and you frankly sound ridiculous for doing all this. You don't need to defend some corporate product designed to sell toys to children because meanie critics said mean things about it. You're adults, so please act like one. And if you do this crap again, you will see a threadban. Your choice.
  5. Because certain users here have it out for this movie and want to see it bomb. Can't imagine why. 🙄
  6. We're really seeing the entire downfall of Hollywood just like that...good.
  7. To clarify things for everybody... Yes, you can link EC's Twitter posts. I would very much prefer if you didn't do this, because he bullied me on a daily basis, but I can't stop anybody from doing so. To do so otherwise would break moderation rules. But I do think there should be courtesy and that this forum would be a million times better off if he was never brought up here again.
  8. Yeah, just letting people know that anybody here who's going to be snarky and go all "lololol I thought this was the greatest superhero movie ever lolololololol" when the reviews drop...don't. If you do, you're getting warning points. I am not going to tolerate this bufoonery.
  9. It's kind of like when they tried to push 3D TVs a few years ago and posited these as "the future" and "the new way forward for television", when the appeal of 3D is something you do for a couple hours at the movies, not the main way you watch media. And at least with those, you get more than one pair of glasses packaged into the set. Even if you want to use it recreationally, this isn't something you can really share the experience with when you have friends in the room, plus you have to turn it off if you want to use the bathroom or get a snack. Maybe Spielberg should have shown why those headsets would be annoying and cumbersome in the Ready Player One universe, so that this mess never would have happened.
  10. Either way, I don't want to deal with 5+ pages of arguments and fighting over this movie, especially after the endless fights last weekend, so I think it's best to end it here. I'm sure you're disappointed with this and I apologize for that, but it's for the good of the forum.
  11. It seems like concern trolling because a lot of the debates reads to me as people trying to make Little Mermaid's performance worse than it actually is. Trying to say that its legs actually aren't good because X, Y, and Z and the like and that because it didn't hit certain expectations, it's automatically a failure. When in actuality, the film is doing fine and will be fine. It all screams trying to look for something that isn't there, especially when we've never done this with any other movie until right now, for some reason. Very peculiar. And sure, maybe me stating this all as concern trolling is a little harsh. But I have to be harsh as a mod. Otherwise, the message won't be clear.
  12. True, but this whole VR/metaverse stuff just feels like a novelty and not something that's gonna catch on. Even when newer models come out and the costs come down, they're still gonna be like a thousand to pay for at worst and it's all just for flashy stuff I can already do and will give me a headache and motion sickness. Like you look at what they want to do with Disney+ and it's basically saying, "Watch Encanto, only with a million unnecessary screens shoved in your face while you're watching". Like...what's the appeal here?
  13. Moderation We are not partking in this Little Mermaid "is it a hit or not" concern trolling nonsense anymore. Regardless on how you feel about the movie's performance, it's just derailing the thread and nobody's going to listen to each other. So please stop this now.

  15. He would have been PERFECT as Harold Hill from The Music Man, and I'm baffled Hugh Jackman got to that part first.
  16. Re: TLM merchandise I work at Target and while I don't know any specifics, our Little Mermaid toys and merch do seem to be selling a lot. The shelves dedicated to it are frequently empty, while the ones for the new Transformers, Guardians 3, even Spider-Verse are still relatively full. It does seem like the merch is a big deal, and Disney Princess has always been a hot commodity since day 1.
  17. Well, if you use the Report functionalities, that means at least somebody on the staff will be aware and look into the issue. And if you think that is insufficent for whatever reason, then @ me specifically, or another moderator, and I/they will take care of the problem if they think it's an issue or not. And speaking of, I have threadbanned both 21C and Willowra for their trolling and conspiratorial nonsense. While 21C's post was reported, it would have been better if you did the action or just tell a moderator the problem, instead of being all "WHY IS NOBODY DOING ANYTHING". We have lives and jobs outside of this forum and we can't be here every waking minute, especially when last weekend we had to deal with another controversial release re: Little Mermaid.
  18. Just wanted to remind people here that you have one month left to submit a list for the Top 100 Warner Bros. Movies countdown. It's already very exciting so far with just 11 submissions, but your vote is needed to make it even better. So don't forget it!
