  1. The Lion King Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-6 Days and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 105 3,030 19,193 15.79% Total Seats Sold Today: 305 I'm actually surprised at the seats sold here. On the day that reviews dropped, the film declined from the prior day's ticket sales. But a day later, with those reviews setting in, it leapfrogged over yesterday and the day before when it comes to tickets sold. I guess it's kind of a combination of a lot of things. It's about a week away, so people and families are just now getting their tickets in. People read the reviews, thought it over, and the whole main complaint of "It's just the same movie again" is weirdly kind of a draw for a good chunk of its audience. The Tomato turned fresh, so Tomato Law worked its magic...okay, I kid on the last one, but those first two are pretty strong theories...probably? I dunno.
  2. https://www.boxofficepro.com/long-range-forecast-it-chapter-two/ It: Chapter Two: 110-150 range. 136/305 OUATIH: 48/158.5 (-4%) Hobbs & Shaw: 94/230 (-6%)
  3. Anyway, runtimes w/out credits and attachments for next week's release: The Lion King: 1:47. Attachments are Maleficent and Mulan for 2D, Maleficent and Frozen for 3D
  4. Shaft did about 600K in previews, and that was an established brand. Long Shot also did about 660K. It's obviously not great, but I feel like O/U 10M is somewhat likely.
  5. That's not bad. The Shallows did about 1.3M back in 2016, and 47 Meters Down had about $735K. Frontload the previews a bit, and that would be about 12M or so for the OW I think.
  6. Hmmm... Population of India is 1.339B. Perhaps 13.4M Thursday?
  7. The Lion King Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-7 Days and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 105 2,725 19,193 14.20% Total Showings Added Today: 3 Total Seats Sold Today: 257 To compare, this sold exactly 10 less tickets from yesterday, which is...interesting. On the one hand, with reviews out, that should have helped build more buzz and awareness, making people more aware it's coming out and possibly buy their tickets in advance, so it should have probably increased. But on the other hand, with reviews being mixed, that could be considered a turn-off for consumers. Therefore, having the film only slightly decline, and still generate boffo numbers is...good? People don't care and are still interested in getting tickets? I dunno. I guess staying close to 267 is better than moving far below it.
  8. btw Lion King will come later at night. I just did Crawl and Stuber early to catch their last numbers before previews dropped.

  11. That sounds about right. Buzz doesn't feel anywhere near as strong as Fate of the Furious, although us being in the middle of Lion King fever probably doesn't help.
