I'm actually even more interested in the movie now with that rating. More adult-oriented animation is always something nice to see, especially one that's not a Family Guy-esque raunchfest. TBH, I think it'll still do fine with a PG-13. Superhero movies always have a decent-sized family audience, especially Spider-Man, so this will probably still do fine.

Watching Rocky IV right now (It's on YouTube for free for some reason). At the part where Apollo meets Paulie's robot.

Anyway, now that I'm on a computer, I can do some fun "If X follows Y" stuff. If Ralph follows Coco: 3.8 21.8 w/ previews Wed 14.7 Thurs 31.3 Fri 30.4 Sat 22.2 Sun 120.4 5-Day If Ralph follows Moana 3.8 22.7 w/ previews 14.5 31.8 31.2 19.3 119.5 5-Day I wish I could do Penguins of Madagascar (last animated Thanksgiving sequel), but I couldn't find any preview data. Obviously 120M seems like a stretch, given that it's a sequel and it doesn't seem to have the same fervor or WOM as those other two, but Ralph might have an okay shot at getting to Frozen's 5-Day (93M). More likely though, it'll be around Moana (82M) I don't have a single good comp for Creed. The first one as a comp would be above 100M, which ain't gonna happen. But as a shot in the dark, a 5-Day around Good Dinosaur (55M)?

I believe Annapurna's only working with MGM on certain titles. AKA stuff that doesn't have have an existing studio partner. Creed's also produced by WB, so I don't think Annapurna gets any of the profits? I could very well be wrong though.

We literally just had a tentpole Disney movie open to 20M three weeks ago, but okay.

At least in my opinion, when it comes to a sequel, the best timeframe for one to come out is around 2 or 3 years after the movie, or 10+ years after the movie. When it comes to a 2-3 year wait, the sequel is coming out at a point where the original is still relevant and talked about and people remember how much they liked it. In the case of 10+ years, that original may have been out for a long time, but a whole generation has passed, and the original film is now nostalgic. Lego 2's coming out 5 years after the last movie. It's now at a point where it's far away people have to be reminded of the last film, but it's not far away enough the property becomes nostalgic. Incredibles 2 had 14 years where the kids who saw the first movie in theaters grew up, and likely have kids of their own. My Twitter feed basically consisted of "Get the kids out of the way. Incredibles 2 is for us!" 5 years is a different story. Then again, Ralph Breaks the Internet will likely increase from its original after 6 years since the last film, so what do I know?

Creed is doing crazy business on Pulse right now. It's either always been 1st or 2nd behind Grinch, and is considerably ahead of Ralph. Don't know what that means, but I feel 90% sure Creed will beat out Four Christmases and Enchanted to be the biggest live-action Thanksgiving opener. Might even topple Good Dinosaur for all we know.

Trailer just premiered. Not especially funny, but the movie still looks like a lot of fun. Already in love with the daredevil Pratt character and Haddish's charcter

The critics were clearly bought. No one can hate Sexy Eggsy. Where's the accountability in film criticism smh

It should be noted if you take out Ralph's 3D, both it and Creed are really close, and I believe Creed might even be on top. I'll probably check if that's true later, but we could see either a Creed overperformance, or a Ralph underperformance this weekend.
